No, Xoxo didn't get a haircut, just a brushing. :) That's a US quarter
coin, for size comparison.

Oh MY!  That's a lot of fur!  Must be losing the "winter coat".

Good grief.  Bet he is cooler tonight.

I brushed Jake this afternoon with similar results.  A swear I could have
made a Wookie.

Just how long has it been since he was brushed?  You could knit another
cat at this rate.   MLB

ROFL!  That's a great idea!  Beats the late night "spray on" hair ;)

My poor LLL is so upset he started balding in his teens.  I keep pointing
out bald men who are so attractive.  He just doesn't get it.  But at least,
in the time I knew him way back when, he didn't buy a rug made by Victor <G>

Yep, DH is bothered by his hair loss *WAY* more than I am.  I keep telling
him it's what's *IN* his head that matters, not what's *ON* it!

My DH points out that male pattern baldness correlates with high
testosterone levels. ;-)

Last time I saw a recent image William Shatner on TV (as opposed to
original-series Star Trek reruns), he appeared to be wearing a dead
tribble as well.

A lot of times when I'm bored I'll really notice the hair craze among men in
the entertainment industry.  Are we supposed to believe that none of them
have so much as a receding hairline?  Do they have no concept of how real
people in the real world look?  Sure a few of them are very well done, but
the majority, you can absolutely tell they don't really have a full head of
hair and what they are sporting looks flat silly.

Makes me wonder, what percentage of real non show biz men at age sixty have
a full head of hair.  I'm guessing around 10%.  Maybe around 20% pretty much
bald from the ears up, and the other 70% with a major amount of receding,
thinning, etc going on.

What do you guys think.

My grandfather, if memory serves, had a nearly full head of hair well
into his 70s. OTOH, DH has some serious thinning/receding going at 42.

Daddy had a full head of hair as well, as did all the men in his family.
And they all grayed very late.

But that seemed to be a rarity.

Part of what I don't get with all the often very bad hairpieces in the
entertainment world, it seems to be the men that are concerned with their
own hair loss.  Women as a rule aren't much put off by balding or thinning
hair as long as a man is pleasant looking and well groomed.

My LLL has been bald on top almost since high school.  He's very sensitive
about not having hair.  I missed his "bad rug" days, thank God.  I point out
attractive men without hair because he seems to think it's impossible to be
one.  He's so hair envious!  Patrick Stewart from the Next Generation Star
Trek series.  Sean Connery.  Pernell Roberts in his post "Bonanza" days on
stage as well as in "Trapper John, M.D."  Yul Brenner.

There definitely are some downright ugly folks but they'd be ugly even with
hair.  I never thought Telly Savalas was a particularly good looking man,
but he had a presence.

Bugs me no end that my LLL is so insecure about not having hair.  He can
have mine... he doesn't have to spend money on shampoo and conditioner.  I
was told today my hair is beautiful.  I said, "Thank you. And thanks to
Loreal!" <EBG>

I knew we had work to do the first time I stopped off in the fairly early
morning and her now ex husband answered the door wearing a robe - and a
baseball cap.  He was the sort that insisted on wearing a hat during their
wedding.

It took us about two years to convince him to give it up, keep what was left
shaved off or at least shaved short and forget about it.    He was shocked
at all the positive feedback he got at work and everywhere.

Probably not fair that we are hijacking Victors thread here.  You have the
sort of thick unruly hair that needs the attention of a good barber about
every two weeks don't you Victor?

I get a haircut every 3 weeks, it used to be every 2, but that got to be
expensive. :)

Personally, I go every 3 months :)  There are some advantages to going bald.

My hair started getting really thin right after high school. I guess I'm
lucky that it has never bothered me. I've never understood what would
drive guys to try things like rugs and plugs and drugs to try to fight
hair loss.

This reminds me of when we were in Highland, Illinois and went to a barber
shop.  John wanted a trim.  He has "fringe" (he hates that word LOL).  This
was a very strange shop.  Combination barber shop and golf store.  The guy
gave him a trim, shaved the straggly hair off the top of John's head then
fired up a SHOP VAC vac and used it on his head!  I nearly fell off my
chair!  John, of course, had no idea why I was laughing until we walked out
the door (I was still laughing).  Dude only charged him 2 dollars.  Must be
to cover the cost of the equipment. :)

My dad has two bald areas on the sides of the top, so the very top of
his head has hair (albeit thin) which connect to the (thick) hair on the
sides of his head. He used to have it relative long, not enough for a
comb-over or anything like that, but enough for it to blow in the wind.
One time I was visiting I told him he needed a haircut and I cut his
hair short. He looked in the mirror and said: you made me bald! I said,
dad, nature made you bald, I just gave you a haircut! :)

LOL!

It's hard to make some men understand that cutting your hair very short
(especially on the sides) makes you look *less* bald then having those long
strands blowing in the wind!  ;>

Laughing here.  Charlie just finally "got it" about twenty years late that
long thin hair looks even thinner than short thin hair.  Thank God his
beloved barber retired and he let someone at the new shop talk him into a
shorter cut.

Well, if you're giving it away, *I'LL* take yours!  Even before my surgery
(which I knew would result in some hair loss because of diminished protein
intake) my hair was thinning - it runs in my family.  Bald men are sexy, but
very few bald *women* are!  ;>

Actually, I was more interested in her beautiful face and the fact that she
could be bald and still be so gorgeous.  But then again, I'm a hetero
female.  Of course I notice other women's bodies, but I leave it up to John
to comment on them ;)

Okay, and my friend Kim who's 29 and has slimmed down radically thanks
to the nausea of chemo but is now regaining her health, looks okay as a
woman of the hairless persuasion. But she did say she didn't recommend
stem cell treatments as a beauty regime!  She also said she was very
glad to see new hair growth.

Apparently not often enough! To be honest, we rarely brush the kids. We
just misplace the brush so that when we think about brushing them, it is
nowhere to be found. :)

I was teasing, of course.  Persia adores being brushed.  If I reach for the
drawer where the brush is she immediately jumps in my lap and starts
purring.  She *drools* all over the place when I brush her!

Sometimes I wonder how I knew so much about this cat when I'd never had a
cat before.  When I was buying a litter box and food bowls and it occurred
to me I might just have a CAT, I paused and picked up a cat brush.  How did
I know she'd like to be brushed?  She took to it like a duck on water.
