Last night we had a small meeting-up with Joy, Yowie, JeanH and me at
my place.  It was lovely to meet Joy and JeanH and to catch up with
Yowie and the Yowlet (who is now almost walking!).

I'm 183cm, or 6 foot tall, if that helps. I'm the shorty of my family, my
father and mother (before old age caught up with them) were 6'8" and 6'1"
respectively, and my sister is 6'2".

I've diluted The Yowlet's genes a bit, as Joel's about average height wise,
but my sister married a 6'5" gentelman, and my neice is already taller than
The Yowlet, and she's 4 months younger than he is - and she's a girl! Anyone
having experience with puppies and kittens would have taken one look at her
at birth and realised she was going to be very big - her hands and feet were
*huge*. I just hope when she grows up she wears that height with pride and
mkes good use of it. I know what its like being a "freak", but its even
sadder seeing a clearly tall young person who has already developed a
pronounced stoop.

Which is why I put my daughter in ballet class when she was five.  And
encouraged the hell out of her knowing she would be far to tall to ever be a
ballerina.  None of those other girls were ever going to dance
professionally either, right?

And I told the teacher up front, I wanted one thing from the classes.  For
her to learn to walk tall and with pride.  Said daughter is now 5ft 13in and
walks beautifully.

For that matter put younger daughter in the same classes.  She made it to
4ft 10in.

If nothing else dance classes with a good instructor teach the kids how to
walk beautifully and have a good time learning.

tCongrats on your beautiful height.  All the grandkids are 6"3" and the
new great grandson is also over the chart for 5 month old babies.  He also
weighs 20 pounds.   We were sweating this out because greatgrandmothers
(not I) on two sides are shorties.  If you don't believe being very tall
is an advantage, get on a crowded elevator.  MLB

Yes.  Vicky is right around 6 feet tall.  Joel is almost that tall, and
the Yowlet is going to be a giant when he grows up.

OK, that is just wrong.  You all look so happy and like you're all
having so much fun.

If I hitch hike to Toadsuck, would any of you pick me up from the side
of the road?

Pam S.  who is just kidding, but wants to be at Toadsuck SO MUCH

Wah!  I can't get to it.  I get an error message.  I suppose it's because I
never joined Catslaves.  :-(
