ABC is a strange company.  I've ordered things from them off an on over the
years.  First, you have to pretend you are a business and get an account
with them.  That's not hard to do, you just make some stuff up and they
don't care!  LOL  But if you order multiple items, the shipping often
outweighs the cost of the item itself.  And they will ship in small batches
as items become available.  The shipping adds way up that way.

I worked with a woman who ordered some stepping stones for her garden.  I
don't remember the cost, it was something like $10 for a set of six of the
stones.  They shipped her ONE stepping stone and said the others were on
backorder.  She never did get the others and the shipping on that one stone
was more than the total order would have been.

But it's a cute cat-house and at least it's one item so they can't pull the
shipping in pieces scam.

It seems like they sell to private individuals now. I'll let you know
how it goes.

Victor, please let us know how easy it is to order from them and if delivery
is fairly quick - along with how the furkids like it.  ;>

I'm thinking about ordering one too (and the cute bird feeder), but they
already have my address in their database as a business (the people we
bought the house from were ministers of a church), and they won't set up an
account for me unless I send them a copy of a utility bill with my name on
it (weird!).  Before I go to all that trouble I'd like to know if it's worth
it.  Thanks!

Failing to be able to buy from ABC, you might try this one:

Similar idea, but netting covering instead of fabric... Oh, I forgot, the
one at Dr. Foster & Smiths is about $70 more expensive.

I think either one would be really neat for the cats, expecially if on an
exterior door with glass in the upper 1/2.  they could get a people's eye
view of the big OUT.

Lori, if you know the account number from the church they honestly don't
care.  They'll let you use it and ship to your house.

I'm about half convinced Persia would like this.  And yes, I have a glass
door so she could see the big OUT.  However, it's also almost the sole light
source into my living room so I wouldn't want to block it.  Whoever designed
these apartments must have thought they were going to be renting to people
terrified of the sun :(

I got my order today
(http://www.abcdistributing.com/store/0505F1/34.cfm?vc=0000000000&) and
set it up on our bedroom door. Maya *loves* it. She spent most of the
afternoon exploring and yowling at the top of her lungs. :)
It feels sturdy, though I wish the fabric was thicker (I'm afraid Fez is
going to rip it to shreds, he hasn't figured out he can climb onto the
2nd level from the first, he's been climbing onto it from the outside).
They have shipping information in their website and the reason it took
so long to get here (I ordered it on the 28th and it shipped on May 3rd)
was because it was back-ordered. Overall, it was a good on-line shopping
experience.

Thanks!  I may just fax them a copy of my electricity bill and order one
myself!

I didn't have to do any such thing, they have a new user type that is
for private people. :)
