Around the house are various scratching and climbing toys. The one
in my bedroom is a carpetted two-story condo at the foot of the bed
to try to divert scratching of the mattress (a favorite of all cats
I've ever known!). It sits on carpet and its not very stable. I
find it laying on its side quite often. Oh, and usually "rolled"
away from its original location.
Last weekend I finally had the opportunity to go back to sleep
after feeding everyone early. When I woke up, I saw the condo lying
on its side and Rhett and Scarlett were having a blast with it.
They'd rolled it up against the wall and the openings were nearly
flush with the floor, but exposed enough to create an opening that
they could climb up into. Its one of those condos that has a half-
shelf, and provides climbing from the inside so they could go from
the bottom hole and climb out the top hole. I watched as Scarlett
reached out from inside the condo, and Rhett tried to grab her
paws. Then he'd climb up inside and she'd run out the other hole.
Then was something really funny. She went back inside, and Rhett
hopped up on the side (now the top) and looked like he was trying
to roll it, like a log roll game! Each time he'd jump up and try to
roll it, he'd hop off and look up inside for Scarlett. Then he'd
hop back onto it and try to roll it again. I was just laughing and
laughing! Glad she kept paws and tail tucked in while he tried to
give her a ride! Thank goodness for the wall!

LOL! Sometimes I wish I'd taken two kittens so Mere could have someone
to goof around with like that, but it just wouldn't be practical. I'm
not quite sure how to transport three cats to the island, let alone four.
