Hey all... I've been away for a few years, don't know if anyone remembers
me or not. I think I was last here about the same time Bev's Ollie went
missing. At that point in time I had seven cats, including Kitty, the
new one whose arrival I talked about here:
http://groups-
beta.google.com/group/rec.pets.cats.anecdotes/msg/b5ab52d2e21588bd?hl=en
At the time, I thought I might have ten more years with my guys. Sadly,
three of them have already gone to the bridge: Cinnamon Rose died of
liver cancer a week before Christmas 2003, Amadeus of combined
cardiomyopathy and chronic renal failure in May of 2004 and, most heart-
wrenching of all, Nutmeg, Her Royal Siamese Majesty, of old age,(nearly
nineteen years old) in September of 2004.
In trying to catch up with the NG, it's been hard to find out that old
friends are gone here, too: Dave Yehuda, the Flabulous Dust, Ollie, and
more. I wish I'd been here to say goodbye. It's good to see that other
old friends are still kicking, though.
I'm finally to the point of adopting again. After losing Nutmeg, I
wasn't going to have more than four cats ever again. I don't *need* more
cats. But (there's always a "but" isn't there?) there was a shelter cat,
tortie-point Siamese, whose blue eyes convinced me that I should consider
it. And now, since she's long ago been adopted out, it's to be a pair of
quiet, overweight five-year-old brothers, nearly identical tabby and
white with green eyes and sweet, pleading faces whose 80-year-old owner
desperately wanted to be kept together. Poochie and Moochie (to be
renamed Snooch and Mooch) will be joining us (17 year old Silver, 15 year
old Chingachgook, 14 year old Goldie, 5 year old Kitty and myself) next
week, if all goes well.
At any rate, I'm back. Hello, again.

Hi Dragon, nice to meet you. I'm a new-again member of the group (I'd
stopped posting here right after the split into anecdotes, h+b, etc.

Hello again! Welcome back. I don't know if you remember me (and Frank
and Nikki), but I remember you. I now have a kitten, too, who will be
five months old in a few days' time. Piccies at the links below. Your
kitties are beautiful. especially the grey and ginger tabby curled up
together. <swoon> My favourite colour cats!

Welcome back. It has been a long while, hasn't it? We're sorry to read
about your losses, though pleased to read about your gains. Sometimes
life just isn't fair.
We're looking forward to reading your stories about your owners, past
and present, and to looking at even more of your pictures. You have
beautiful owners.

I've only started posting here in the last year, but it's nice to meet you,
Dragon. I have a relatively small crew, Panther, my all black senior
citizen (17 as of this spring), Francesca, just over a year old, who is a
very pretty brown tabby girl. And Nina, Francesca's most unexpected child,
but who is a little brown tabby and white bundle of fuzzy laughs and joy,
now 10 months old. Of course, I also have a fairly small apartment, so
three cats fill it up quite remarkably. =o)
You have very attractive owners. And I'm glad you were able to give Snooch
and Mooch a home together. That was an act of genuine mercy. They may have
lost their original home and hoomin, but at least they'll still have one
another.

Glad you could rejoin us. It's nice to have some continuity. Myself,
I'm fairly new and have half a dozen cats to serve.
Regards and Purrs,
