Buster's bedmice

Buster is an ex-feral, so it makes me feel good to see him learning to
play. Um, well, with some exceptions (grin)...

It is normal for little Feet to help me make the bed - I spread the
sheets, and he rabbit-kicks the sheets into submission. Buster has
seen Little Feet do this, but has only watched.

During the past week, however, Buster has decided that bedmice can
only be located, after the final bedspread has been put into place,
and when Senyah and I scare them to his end of the bed.

I'm sure I've mentioned that Buster is a sharp and pointy cat.

His claws reach through the thick layers of doona-thick bedspread, and
the flat sheet. This makes um... intimate maneuvers a bit more risky
than previously experienced.

Especially when Dulce Mae is trying to climb up under the bedspread
via her 'cat tent' near the floor, and while Little Feet is swatting
at Whatever Is Moving Up There - all of which only convinces Buster
that the bedmouse infestation is MUCH worse than he thought.

Last night, I actually had to pick Buster up and cuddle him, telling
him that, while he is a good bedmouse hunter, there ARE inappropriate
times to hunt them...

LOL!

Lately (this morning to be exact) I've discovered that Frank and Nikki
have let the bedmouse infestation around here get completely out of
hand. Luckily, Mere is now on the job. She would pounce on five of them
at a time and bunny-kick the living daylights out of them. I'm so lucky
to have her to defend me. These old... ummm... *big* cats have become
much too complacent.

LMAO! I can just see that! I have a hard enough time making my bed, with
maximum help from Chaos; I don't think I could get it done if she had an
assistant.
