Yeah, it feels like carrying around a baby when you're burping (except she
*way* heavier than my babies were!  ;>).

I also like kitty hugs.  It's very, very cuuuute.  I was looking at
pictures of Sammy as a baby.  It hardly seems possible that she's the
same cat.

I know!  When I brought her home she could fit in the palm of my hand - now
she barely fits in my arms!!!  ;>

So cute and so LARGE!  She is bigger than Tyche (of course Tyche isn't
large, she's just a fatty) and so beautiful!  Hilarious how she still
has kitten fixation (so do Kumani and Tyche) but to have it on a cat
so big, taking guff from a 4 pound DSH.... *l*  Precious!

She just drapes herself over you like you let her do it, or something.

Yeah, she's Mommy's special little girl - *SO* trusting (of course, it's a
bit harder for me to trust those claws so close to my face!!!  ;>)

Do I remember right that you're about my height (5'4")? I'm trying to
get some perspective on the mega-kitten's size relative to Felix.

Actually I used to think I was 5'4", but when I went to a new doctor last
week they measured me and I was 5'5"!!!  I'd heard of losing height as you
age, since your spine compresses, but *never* gaining height - so I guess I
was just mistaken.

To get an idea of her size picture this... she can stand on the kitchen
floor and put her front paws on my counters (or reach them to my waist)!

Wow CatNipped "Samazon" is right, she is really growing. How old is she
again? If I remember right she is still a kitten?

She just made 1 year old on April 8, 2005.  From what I've heard, Maine
Coons (which I think she must have a lot of in her ancestry) continue to
grow until they are 3 years old!

Oh my goodness, she still has 2 years left. I don't think I have ever
seen a kitty so big. With her size I am surprised she is not bullying
(sp?)the others.

That's what's so funny - *everybody* bullies *her* since she still thinks
she is a tiny kitten!  Here's a picture of how little 4+ pound Jessie treats
her:  http://www.possibleplaces.com/CatNipped/BigLittle/

My mother grew an extra inch later as well (I think she grew hers in
her early 50s), so it is quite possible that you did grow an extra inch
(must be something about those Southern Ladies).

That is a big "little" girl, and I just think she is so lovely.

Smokie Darling (Annie) - who has trouble handling my 12 pound baby boy
(Barnabus), I can't imagine having one Sammy's size (but I bet I'd like
it).

Thank you!  Like Bandit, pictures just don't do her justice - you really
have to see (and touch) her to get her full effect - and then you just
swoon!!!  ;>

She's bigger than Felix, then. I really don't think he can reach that
high.

But you lost a lot of weight, didn't you? It's possible that that your
spine's less compressed now that it has less to carry around.

Love those big-uns.

I didn't think of that!  Also, I've been doing yoga for quite some time now
and *that* could have stretched my spine.

Yeah, if I ever were to get a pure-bred (which I never will while there's a
moggie sitting in a shelter needing a home) I think it would be a Norwegian
Forest Cat - male - so it could get to 30 pounds or more.  [But the rate
Sammy's growing, she could get there!]  ;>

WOW!  She's about as big as our "monster" cat, QC, who also likes to
stand in the kitchen with his paws on the counter asking us what we're
doing.  I think I almost impressed Rob's parents with her, as they used
to have Leo, palm sized when they rescued him, and 45 lb. at his prime.
I believe he had some Norwegian Forest Cat in his back ground.  He was
also terrified to go outside during the day.
