I talked to the vet who treated Sandy yesterday. In a nutshell, it's
all tied into her deteriorating kidneys. Decreased blood cells and
oxygen, elevated creatnin into high range, decreased erythropoten,
kidneys compromised - all contributing to vomiting, anemia,
dehydration, chronic.... Bottom line - early warning signal that
Sandy is going downhill. About all we can do is keep an eye on her
and keep her on the K/D. Possibly sub-Q's in a month or two.
Thank you all for caring.

Ooooooooh. I don't blame your son for not being able to report all that to
you; I have medical background and there's one of those items *I* don't
understand. But the rest I do....and we will send comfort purrs for Sandy's
quality of life from now on and meatloaf meditations for
your ongoing care of her faithful d-pet self. I've been there, done
that.....to felines. My sympathy to you and your son.

Well, the only upside is you don't have an additional illness to worry
about. Soothing and strengthening purrs on the way.

Purrs for Sandy and for you. And I hope that the transition to sub-Q
fluids, when it does take place, happens smoothly.

Once again I say sorry, I lost my Darling Henri R.B. to failing kidneys.I'm
so sorry Sandy is going down,I was afraid of cancer when you spoke of his
vomiting my dog Sam had similar symptoms to Sandy's and he was found to have
cancer, but I didn't like to say anything, sometimes I think you can put a
jinx on things, when you say stuff like, Oh yes my cat,
or dog, or friend had that, Purrs for Sandy to have a lovely life for
as long as he can. Jean.P.

And I'm sorry for your loss of Henri. I know from your previous
posts how much you loved Henri. We have lost three cats over the
years to kidney failure (Baby, 16; Custard, 19; Philip, 20+) but their
symptoms were very different from Sandy's so we didn't recognize the
connection until the vet explained it. Thank you for the purrs, we'll
do all we can to keep Sandy happy for as long as possible.
Best wishes - Jeanne
Thanks you for the purrs for Sandy.
