The Little Kid

Buster was impatient to go outside this evening. He was sitting on the
coffee table, and knocking Senyah's stuff on the floor. Every time I
walked near the table, he meowed at me, asking to go out.

So I looked out the window, and see The Tricycle. There is a skinny
little boy, about three years old, who lives just down at the corner
of our building. It is his tricycle.

So I tell Buster, "Well, The Tricycle is outside, so The Boy is
probably nearby."

"Meow," insists Buster, so I open the door, and he goes outside.
Buster sits on the little wooden border posts that surround the poor
excuse for a shrub, just outside the door. As he sits there, surveying
his kingdom, the little boy walks over to The Tricycle, with his
grandmother.

I'm still watching Buster, when the little boy also sees Buster. Well,
Buster jumps down from his seat, turns to face me at the window, and
has the most panick-stricken, "please let me in, I'll be good" look on
his face, that I have ever seen.

Now I know that this little boy hasn't done anything to hurt Buster,
he's just a little boy who wants to pet the kitty. And Buster doesn't
want near little kids - he just panics.

So of course, I opend the door, and Buster practicall bolted into the
living room, then jumped into my lap as soon as I sat down.

Several pets and skritches, and Buster sneaks to corner of the window
to look out. Seeing the kid still out there, he jumped back in my lap.
He hasn't asked to go out again for the rest of the evening (grin).

Hugs and Purrs,
Mark

Smart Buster! Moxie runs into our fenced-in yard when she sees kids.

That's a lovely story. I bet the kid would be really sweet if Buster let him
anywhere near.
