If you're a cat lover then you're welcome here! I'm Dan - truck driver
from California. I've got 4 cats that stay at home with my wife and 1,
Harri Roadcat, who travels in the truck with me.

Hiya,
Umm... you'll have to put some pictures up of your kitties so the group
can see them.

Just in case you didn't know, since this isn't a binary group we post links
for our kitty pics. You'll find lots of them! We are proud of our "babies"
:)

It's just a rough first draft, and some of the photos are AWFUL, but I

Thanks, I think so too! Cleo is our oldest (she turns 10 soon), and
rules the house. Amelia is 4, and is much "fluffier" than when she was a
kitten (she's our heaviest kitty now - about 14 pounds). Tabitha is not
quite 2 and was rescued from near my brother's place. Samuel is a month
or so younger than Tabitha - we celebrate his 2nd birthday in late July.
And tiny Harri is just about 9 months old. I've got so many more
pictures of Harri since she's with me every day.

Yes, confusing, I know! Harri is short for Harriet. There's a story
behind it, but a bit long to get into here. She is the most wonderful
travelling companion I could hope for.

I'm surmising that the one of you is with Harri, I guess I'm also assuming
that it *is* you all the cats I could see are lovely but the one on your?
shoulder seems to be just ONE with you, thats why I think its Harri.

Well, I looked and looked and couldn't find a single AWFUL picture. You
must have removed them before I got to the web page.
They're beautiful! I love the picture of Amelia 'helping' you watch
tv, and Harri! Oh Harri is beautiful!! Love that coloring!

Lately, Ava thinks I'm her perch, and she's taken to nibbling on my
face while she's on my shoulder. I think she thinks she's grooming me.
;-) (Note to new arrivals: Ava is my ringneck dove, who teases my cat,
Felix, unmercifully (grin).)

Look at Tabitha, all grown up! Mere was on my arm when I looked at your
page, and when we came to Samuel, she really sat up and took notice. I
told her Sammy is already spoken for, but we both think he is absolutely
gorgeous. It's uncanny how alike he and Harri seem, at least in the
pictures.

Isn't it? And when Harri is at home and wants to play, she goes first to
brofur Sammy. It will be interesting to see how the play order goes when
she gets to meet Ranger.

Hi Crystal! I'm Jill in the Memphis, TN area. I have one cat, Persia, and
a lovebird named Peaches.
Are you considering getting a cat/cats for yourself?
Jill

Hiya Jill,
As quick as my sister and my brother in law move out I'll have the
downstairs to myself and I'll consider getting a cat or two. For those
that don't know I'm a HUGE fan of the Janesville Wisconsin City busses.

Welcome! What do you want us to call you? I'm Pam S. in North Carolina
USA and am owned by six cats, have a foster cat (Calvin) who's going
back to be adopted today, and five kittens (aka bitties) that we're
fostering for the local no-kill shelter.
I am a substitute teacher, married to a retired Army Puke, with three
kids, sons 26 and 22 and a daughter who's 18. We also provide camping
space to the daughter's boyfriend and at least two or three other guys
who think this is the best place to hang their hats.
I've posted pictures in here lately of Sonya and the bitties, and also
have an album on Yahoo of the other owners. You may be able to get to
it through Sonya's album.
Again Welcome,
Pam S. owned hoomin

Cool, I've never known a Crystalita before. If you haven't found it
before, the FAQ for this group is at
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/yowie/catfaq.htm Yes there are pop-ups if
you don't have blockers, but the web site is not only informative, but
funny and very indicative of this group.

It's appropriate to quote relevent bits of the posts you are replying to.
Many people here have newsreaders that sometimes drop the original post by
the time they get around to reading it. So if you quote what you reply to,
it makes sense to those coming in on the tail-end. It also prevents the
rest of us whose hosts don't drop the older posts so we don't have to scroll
back and figure out what you write about.
As with anyone new to the group, you will probably find a number of acronyms
that don't make sense upon first reading. For example, TED = The Evil
Doctor (vet) - from the cat's point of view. If at any time you don't
understand a reference, just ask. This is one of the friendliest and most
helpful bunch of people ever.
Another note, we do often post OT (Off Topic). As long as it doesn't decend
into bashing each other (we do NOT do that here), it's okay as long as the
post is labelled as such.
And, when someone trolls to try to start a flame war (or tries to SPAM the
group selling stuff) we start posting recipes in self-defense. They have no
idea how to react when we don't respond the way they intended and slink
quietly away.

A big welcome from Texas! (Dallas area) I am a slave to 2 cats. Psycho
is a 13yo black and white tuxedo girl with the sweetest disposition.
Missy Mouse is a 5yo grey tabby female terror covered in fur.
I am a recently retired/disabled police officer of 20 years. I am
hoping to enter the Delta Connection Academy in Orlando, Fl and become
an airline pilot. A dream come true for me. Welcome again!

Shirley B. - 17 Apr 2005 20:54 GMT
Hi Crystal. I'm Shirley and am totally run by Rexie. He's Siamese (I thought
a mix but the vet doesn't think so). He'll be 3 in July and thinks he owns
the world.
We're in Central California foothills with tons of hawks; and that's the
main reason he's an indoor cat. But he's on a diet to lose 2 pounds.
Hopefully I'll survive!
Welcome!
