If Harri was a human I'm sure she would be a heavy equipment mechanic.

When we walk in a company yard or a truck stop, she always has to check
out the trailers. She loves to climb in the big wheel rims (just the
outside ones) and inspect the rims and the valve stems and peek through
the holes to see what's on the other side. She always tries to go under
the trailer to climb up on the wheel bogey, but her mean Paw never lets
her so she has to be content with checking out the axles and the brake
cans and the air bags from the ground.

When we walk up to our tractor she frequently jumps up on the catwalk
behind the cab (well, it *is* a catwalk!) and inspects the hoses and
fittings, and frequently tries to climb up under the fairing to inspect
whats between the outside wall and the inside.

And when we walk past a row of parked cars, she insists on walking
*under* the rear of the cars so she can check out the underpinnings.

This kitten can amuse herself in the most unlikely places! This truck
stop has only a 10 foot wide by 80 or so foot long stretch of grass, but
between the grass and checking out the trailers we had an excellent walk.

I would *love* to be a cat - they are *never* bored (they just cultivate the
appearance of being bored)!  ;>

My son was like that - it would drive me crazy.  I'd give him a "time-out"
by sitting him in the corner and he'd find a couple of pieces of dust and
spend the whole 15 minutes playing "Indy Race Cars"!

Soon she'll start typing her own messages to the group.  She's a
multi-talented kitty-girl! :)

Piggy backing on Jill's post.  I have been printing out the Harri the
Roadcat stories (to let DH read them).  We both just absolutely adore
them as well.

That is just so cute. I wonder if Harri's Paw suddenly went back to the
9-to-5 work world, what she would think? Sounds like she loves her life
on the road. My son says he sees *lots* of truckers with dogs, but so
far none with a cat.

When I left from hometime on Wednesday, Harri was undecided whether she
wanted to come with me or stay home. I don't it will be too long before
she decides to be a house cat. And once I get a *real* job I plan to
take regular kitty trips with her on weekends.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add this: late in 2004 I used to see trucking
kitties all the time - at least a couple a week. But in the 6 months
Harri has been with me I have seen only 1 other trucking cat. I'd sure
like to know where they all went!

Thanks for the continuing saga of Harri, Dan.  I know what you mean about
being entertained by the most unlikely things.  I buy my hoolikttens lots of
toys.... Stuffed mice, balls that rattle, catancers etc...  But there's just
NO substitute for that little scrap of paper or my left shoe.... Hmmmm....

Wilson just LOoooooooooves shoesWth the grandkids shoes he rolls over them
gathers them to himself, shoves his paws inside pulls them under his cheek,
with mine he does much the same but also pushes his nose down into them as
far as he can get it,{ the kids shoes are not big enough
for this} he also loves my back scratcher, and no matter where he is or what
he is doing, if he hears me touch it {It has a couple of rattly massage
balls set in the handle} he will come a-running.  Jean.P.

Maybe she is actually looking for smuggled contraband?
