Yowie, I noticed when I gave the FAQ for this group to Mary that when you go
there you get a gazillion pop-ups (I don't use a pop-up stopper because the
work sites I do legitimately need pop-up windows for some applications).

I just wanted to make an offer... I have *TONS* of disk space on my web
site.  I could create a directory, like
http://www.PossiblePlace.com/RPCAFAQ/ (not created yet so this will be a
broken link) and then give you the user ID and password to FTP to the site.
Are you interested?

I"m in a bit of dilemma actually. I"ll be getting broadband soon and that
will bring with it lots of web space. But  that means I can only access the
web site from home because I can't use FTP programs at work.

And, although it sounds odd, I have more spare time to fiddle with my
angelfire pages, including the FAQ, at work than I do at home.

So whilst I know all too well just how darn annoying pop-ups are, the actual
management of of the FAQ and the Bubbels High Score page is easier when I
can use a web-based client to do the uploading.

And, although the pop-ups are darn annoying, the address stays the same even
if I"ve changed ISPs five times (I guess I could register a domain, but
thats money as well).

Lastly, I feel funny using other people's passwords to their sites. A
secondary password that goes with a specific log-in name would make me feel
more comfortable, coz if stupid stuff happens to your account whilst I'm
logged on, you know who to blame (or not!)

So, here's my suggested solutions:

a) Feel free to mirror the FAQ on your Possible Places. I am happy to give
you the source HTML and the few associated images. Nothing wrong with having
the FAQ in two places, and I can e-mail you the updates (which are rare
anyway) for you to upload. We just need to put the relevant mirror site in
each version. One day I'll get around to giving it a full update rather than
patching it :-)

b) if anyone knows of a service that allows uploading via the web that isn't
also pop-up mad? I'm happy to pay a *small* fee per month to keep it open.

Actually mine allows uploading of files via the web site and I can set up a
separate FTP account.  Still, it's up to you - whatever you feel comfortable
with.
