I lost another friend

I met Myrt in college, many years ago, and we maintaned a friendship
for most of that time since.  We did have a falling-out at one point,
but in recent years, we had come back together again.

She had battled lung cancer for more than two years.  It had spread to
other parts of her body, including her brain.  She went through chemo
and radiation and all the usual cancer treatments, but it was too far
advanced.

I visited her Sunday, as her husband called and said she was going
downhill fast.  She could barely speak, but managed to smile a couple
of times.  I kissed her forehead and told her I loved her.

Yesterday afternoon, she died at home, with her sister and her husband
at her side.  It was peaceful and serene.

She leaves two boys, 13 and 11, that her husband will have to raise.
And she leaves two beloved cats.

I will miss her.

I hope to be as lucky to be able to die peacefully at home.

Ginger-lyn, our sympathies for the loss of your friend. Life is
very fragile.  I'm glad it was a peaceful passing.

A thousand hugs to all her family and friends. She'll be breathing deep and
walking strong across the bridge; and no doubt she'll be in heaven. Sounds
like she'd been through hell. But it is good she went with her beloved ones
near, and friends who loved and stood bravely with her, regardless of the
condition.

Blessed be,
Baha

This is so sad :-( I don't think I could cope if I'd had all the
troubles you've had lately.

Purrs to you and her family.

Sounds to me like you've had more to deal with lately than is fair.
Purrs for that, too.

Ginger-Lyn. Once again I'm saying sorry to you you friend was young
I guess leaving two boys that age, it must be terrible for them. I lost my
Dad at 14and through the years I felt so sad that he wasn't here to see
his Grandkids, and other things in my life, as I was very close to my Dad.
Healing Purrs to you and to your friends family.  Jean.P.

You are not having a good year!

Purrs for your friend and those left behind. I lost my best friend to
lung cancer so I know how hard this is.

Her obituary is in the paper today.  She wrote it herself.  And yes,
mentioned cats :-)

It's online here:

Will only be up today.
