I'm sorry to hear this.

I read your blog entries. Smokey was lucky to have someone who cared for
him, in the brief time he had remaining to him. The poor little guy could
have begun his trip to the Bridge alone,and in pain, instead of having the
company of someone who loved him and helped him not to suffer.

He'll be waiting for you on the other side. Of that, I'm sure.
