Just now, I was sitting here reading rpca, and Mere got up on my
shoulder, as she often does. I was just thinking I should go take a
shower and wash my hair, when Mere started grooming my hair. Awww!

I feel I need to build up Frank's confidence with Mere. Frank and Mere
were batting at each other today, and Frank would back off, mewling. I
told him to give as good as he gets, it's his job now to raise the
kitten into a polite and considerate cat so they can play together
without injuries (Mere's prone to using her claws). I uttered many words
of encouragement and support for Frank. A while later I saw them batting
at each other again, and now Frank was really letting Mere have it,
though I don't think he used claws. Mere was on a footstool with a towel
over it, and suddenly Frank pulled down the towel and Mere with it to
the floor. She didn't foresee that! I gave Frank a lot of praise for
being so smart.

The other day, Mere and Nikki were batting paws. It did look more like
playing than real fighting, so Nikki may be mellowing. Mere does still
show her a lot of respect and keeps out of her way, except sometimes
when she is intent on chasing some toy and gets too close to Nikki. When
this happens, Nikki rarely hisses any more, though.

Mere pulled down a curtain again. She tries to climb the walls, but
they're too smooth. I think I need to get a higher cat tree for her. She
would like to be way up at the ceiling.
