Thanks for the pointer! I rarely check there anymore. Its so nice
that you have those videos of Grant. And I loved the one with you
talking to Sugar. :)

The movies are very cute!  You sure must miss Grant a lot.  I liked
your conversation with Sugar, and how you can see those flash of fangs
when she says, "mah", and "myeh".

BTW, do a lot of slaves imitate their kitties when talking to them?
Betty's way of asking me questions is to say, "Mnyah?"  I always
repeat her when she says that.  She probably thinks that I'm the type
that throws questions back at people. :)

Just now, she said, "Mwow!  Mrr, ooo", and I repeated her.  Now she's
doing her usual routine of standing on her hind legs up against my
left thigh, grabbing my wrist and rubbing her cheek against my arm.  I
can counter her maneuver by petting her neck, giving her elevator
shoulders so that she loses balance and falls over.  But I usually
just pick her up and kiss her head a few dozen times before putting
her on my lap so that she can supervise my typing and headbutt and
touch me with her cold, wet nose, like she is now.  And now, she is
pressing her paw against my chest, which means that I need to stop
typing, because I'm not paying enough attention to her.

I have always tended to do this with my cats.  I can sometimes keep a
"conversation" going for a couple of minutes before the cat gets
bored, although I have no idea what I am saying.

I don't know how one could resist imitating Their kitties voice!

I wish I could imitate the way Persia says "Meowma?" (it sounds like "Mama!"
when she wants something, usually more food)

I have long conversations with the cats where I imitate what they say,
especially Frank. I have yet to learn Mere-talk. She makes this funny
little chattering sound when she can't find me immediately. So cute.

Unfortunately, due to some ignoramouse* posting thousands of yEnc (and from
what I've read from other's commenting on the ignoramouse's floding of ABPA,
some were off topic), I was not able to see your movie files.  My server
dropped them due to the massive volume from said ignoramouse.  Can you
repost them at your convenience, or betteryet, email me at the address in my
.sig file?

Thanks!!!!

I will upload them later to filesanywhere and send them to you to download
from there. Then you can see the bigger ones.

Same here, Karen.  I can't see them, either, because of the flood of junk
that was posted in abpa -- but I would love to look at the clips.

Lucky for me, I blocked that sender this morning and deleted (from my OE
reader) all those posts.  I saw the movies and Karen, they are adorable.

No more pathetic than some of the recent puns. ;-)

Thank you for sending me the link. Those films with Grant, especially
the first one, are simply charming. What wonderful mementos of Grant.
And LOL at your 'discussion' with Sugar. Re Petrus: Frank's tail is
never still, either, which is unfortunate since that makes it
irresistible to a little mere hoolikitten. ;o)

OOOoohhhhh. No wonder he is always under attack. I mean, Petrus' tail looks
just like a snake and completely disassociated with his body. You really
cannot tell emotions from it like you can with other cats (not that Petrus
is ever in anything but a "love me" emotional state. He doesn't have a mean
bone in his body.) Poor Frank.

Yeah, you can't tell Frank's feelings from his tail, either. It's just
constantly in motion. Poor boy, he tries to sleep on the pillow next to
mine, and along comes Mere on her way to slip under the covers to sleep
cuddled up against me, but she sees that black snake wiggling so
enticingly and she forgets all about sleep. Frank can forget all about
sleep too. I usually cup my hand over the tip of his tail to keep her
away, but sometimes she tries to dig it out from under my hand anyway.
Poor Frank, indeed.

Karen, your movies are delightful.  I still have 3 to view, but I am really
enjoying them.  Thank you for forwarding the link.

Oh Karen those were great!  I *LOVED* the one where you were making Sugar
talk to you, I laughed till I cried!!

Grant was a lovely lad!  I'm glad you have those to remember him with.

She's so funny. She's always done that a bit, but she is WAY more vocal
since Grant died. It's so cute.

She must be missing her brother.  With Betty, I know that when she
becomes very vocal, it's because she's a little needy, forlorn, or
feeling a sense of loss.  When I boarded Betty at a kitty kennel once,
the owner told me how clean she was, and how vocal she was.  Betty is
actually a very quiet cat!  She said that Betty would just meow and
meow and meow.

When I board Persia, they tell me how chatty she is if there aren't any
other cats around.  The last trip I took in October, she was the only one
being boarded the last few days so they let her run around in the cat room.
I was told she'd get on top of "her" crate and whenever one of the staff
walked by she'd call out to them.  They think she's adorable and they would
be correct :)

Hopefully I'll soon be able to get broadband, it would take far too long
to download these with a dial-up connection. It's supposed to be coming
at the end of May, then I'll be able to download all the pictures and
videos.
