There is an old expression that there are two sides to every story.

A couple weeks ago, I drove about an hour and a half to interview a cat. The
interview (and my dinner conversation with Liz and Louie) were not as ideal
as I'd wished.

I've since emailed Liz a couple of times, but not heard back. I used postal
mail to write two identical letters (Liz and Louie) to ask where they wanted
to go with this matter. I've not heard back from either of them.

Just for curiosity, I signed onto the RPCA message board, and see if Liz has
been posting. Yes, and only slightly to my surprise she's mentioned me
several times.

What did come as a surprise is that much of what she's written has been
remarkably different than what I remember of the cat interview, and of my
friendship with her and Louie.

Seeing as how she's written extensively and publically, I'm going to take a
couple moments (over a period of a couple days) and share with the group
what I remember of the matters.

It really doesn't matter. It is your posts that made it clear that a cat is
not the pet for you. Some people aren't cat people. That's really all that
matters. There are other pets that fit what you want in a pet.

Thats fine, and I'll be happy to read it.

All I ask of you (and Liz and Louie if he posts here) is not to use RPCA as
your personal debating arena.

RPCA is big enough to hold different viewpoints, and indeed, maintain
friendships wtih people who have different opinions on things. Please let it
stay that way.

Thank you, Yowie!  This isn't the place to be debating against each other.
I'm happy to see all of them post.  What they did or did not discuss over
dinner really doesn't involve us (nor should it).

I'm OK with that. My goal at present is twofold:
1) present the other side of the story
2) Work out the misunderstandings

I've offered to phone, mail, email, etc. So if they are agreeable, we should
go to private email promptly.

It has been noted; and earlier, I did post something to the effect of how
much of a jackass I've been. A separate message of greater detail has been
sent to Chris, and again an apology to him and everyone else. i didn't do
right.

Blessed be,

there was any improvement in the service department.

Dukey, if you sent it, I probably deleted it as I was dealing with
almost 700 emails and was using a heavy hand on the delete button.  I'm
sorry, could you send it to me again?

Not only that, but I'm thinking of writing my own blog.  Sonya has some
potential cabin kits with her.  Eric and Traveler seem the most
promising, but I might get SSG Huey to tak Qui Gun Kit and Pez into
military training.  They're both feisty and have potential as cannon
fodder.  Spike is a kit after my own heart.  I'm thinking of making him
my purrsonal assistant.  Of course, the Fat Wench says that they'll be
gone by our launch date, but what does she know.

Since you brought it up, I would like to offer one fine, strong, young
whippersnapper full o' vim and vigor who would make a right worthy deck
hand. With the proper training by the Capt. I am sure the tenancity
displayed in this fine young cat could be directed into more positive
channels.  (Translation: He is the hard-headed-est creature walking
this earth)
Besides, if the Capt. doesn't voluntarily take him, his four
house-mates will likely tie, gag him and throw him in cargo)
Tell the Captain that Grandmother says it isn't necessary for the
mothership to send a clone. Really.

I put out the call for recruits on the Mouser Tails blog spot.  Tell him
to sign up and get his furry little bottom over to Roanoke Island for
Spring Cleaning.  I'm still cursing my head after that docking party
back in December.

I'm sorry, but the Mothership requires a working clone to be substituted
for any cat on a mission.  Sailing on the mouser is included in that
description.  So, Granny, you're going to have to deal with the clone.
However, I might be able to work a miracle and improve the grandkitten's
behavior a little.

I thought this was an unmoderated group......what gives you the right
to speak for the group which is exactly what you are doing.....if the
disagreement was about cats which is what it sounds like...... it is
very on topic for this group I would think.....

If you have friendships with people here and thats the reason you are
trying to censor the OP because of a friendship issue you are very
mucy out of line because there are some people here who may not care
about others friendships.

I wondered where he came from.  Brad, the address for the FAQ is
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/yowie/catfaq.htm  Notice that YOWIE is a
part of the name.  I seriously think that Yowie captures the essence of
being a member of this group and, if anyone has the right to question
the motives of posters, Yowie does.  I know for a fact that she was here
when I joined in 1998.  I think the only poster who's been in here
longer is Dave Stevenson, and He'd probably agree with her that being
rude and catty to each other violates the SPIRIT of our group.

Sorry I can't address all of you a.s kissers individually but you know
who you are and I speak to all of you......the above quote was maybe
the most stupid so thats why I chose it......no one has a right to
moderate this group.....a long term poster or someone who just got
here.......problem with you guys is that after awhile you think you
own and speak for the entire group......no one has told me why Yowie
has the right to try and censor the group.....I made my point you are
all idiots who are led around by the nose by each other...lol.....its
so cute......I am done with this thread there is a group like you guys
in every newsgroup and you are always the same.......low IQ's and a.s

Then allow me to add my vote, that I don't care to see other people's
personal disagreements, when they can take it to email or other
private channels.

Censoring is forcibly removing what a person doesn't want to see (And
doesn't want others to see either).  That's a hell of a lot different
than politely asking people to please keep private disagreements
private.

Here is the link to the FAQ.  It is a good read in and of itself.
http://www.angelfire.com/mt/yowie/catfaq.htm

There was nothing wrong with what Yowie posted.  This had nothing to do with
friendships so much as keeping issues that should be private, private.

However, the tone of your post indicates that you are not familiar with this
group or with its posting conventions.  I would suggest that you google the
group for more than a couple of days posting to see the type of discourse
here.  There are rarely flame wars here because the flamers are generally
ignored in favor of recipes.  Your tone suggests that recipes might be in
order, however since you seem to be a new poster, I won't post one yet.

Diane
