She's been overnight at the vet for observation and some tests.
It's not looking good, though it's not all doom and gloom yet. Her kidneys
are not functioning too well, she's severely anaemic, her liver function is
also not fantastic. There could also be hyperthyroidism involved. Some of
this is to be expected in a cat her age. She's still alert and lively, is
eating well, and doesn't have the demeanour of a cat who intends to die
anytime soon ;)
She's on medication for the kidney problem and we're changing her diet to
suit.
She goes back in to the vet on Monday for further tests and to try to
determine what the problem is with her mouth, which continues to give her
problems.
I'll let you all know how she goes.

Ohh.. I'm keeping everything crossed for baby Princess. I know neither
of you are anywhere near ready to give up hope yet, but from the sounds
of things, she's had a better 3-and-a-bit months with you than she did
for the rest of her life.

Yes, please keep us updated. We love to hear how she's getting on.

Mega purrs coming for Princess' recovery, or at the very least peace, no
pain, and happiness for the rest of her days.
Hugs,

My four are purring away....particularly Smokey for a happy retirement
from the wild, and Kumani for safety from the vet's instruments!

Purrs on the way for TED to diagnosis her problem and for there to be
an easy fix. OTOH, as long as she's active, eating well, etc and seems
to be happy - well what more could we ask for? Many more days and
years of happiness, I guess, so we're sending some long, happy years
of life ahead purrs your way.

Thanks once again to everyone for your kind thoughts and best wishes for
Princess.
Well, this is the cat that Just Won't Quit :)
Vast improvement the past two days. She was already pretty lively for a very
sick cat, but she's perked up even more. I'm well aware it's still touch and
go, but I'm allowing myself a tiny bit of hope that maybe she's got months
rather than weeks.
She's back to the vet tomorrow morning for hydration in preparation for a
mild anaesthetic so they can get a good look at her teeth and jaw, there's
still something there causing her discomfort when she eats. I wouldn't put
her under the strain except that she needs every calorie she can manage at
this point, and her mouth is obviously paining her sometimes and putting her
off her food (as in, she'll be obviously hungry, will take a few bites, and
then just stop eating, even though she's obviously still hungry).
I made her a ramp so she can get onto and off the bed, and she's slept there
the past few nights, another major step forward for her (one of the more
heartbreaking, pathetic things she would do is put both front paws on the
edge of the bed and just be unable to make it the rest of the way. Hence the
ramp so I don't have to be there if she wants to get up on the bed).
Will keep you all posted as things develop. I'll be posting some more pics
in the next few days.

Sounds like she is responding well to medication and diet. I'm betting she
has some very good time left, even if she is on her 9th life. And you're
being such a good momcat! She is a beauty, btw.
