I finally got a few more pictures of my cats together for size comparisons
against Sammy.  Here's Sammy and Bandit (who is *not* a small cat at almost
10 pounds)...

She's a big one, allright! That looks like a fun toy too...

Well, regarding her size and that toy... I used to be able to stand up and
hold that toy *way* up in the air as high as I can reach (and I'm about
5'5", so the end of the stick almost touches the ceiling when I do) so that
Sammy would have to jump up high in order to catch the "birdie" dangling on
the end of the furry rope (good exercise for her).  Now, however, even when
I stand on tiptoes to hold it up, all she as to do is stand up to reach the
birdie - no more need to jump!!!  ;<>

When I pick her up now it feels like I'm picking up a toddler!

What beautiful girls!

Jessie's huge eyes in her little face always crack me up.  Butter
wouldn't melt. ;)

Can you get a picture of that raccoon? ;)

I see you found the page those pictures were from.  I didn't want to post
that here because it had some snide comments from me regarding a thread
(flame war, really) from rpch+b regarding indoor vs. outdoor, and I didn't
want to bring that to this group.  ;>

But, yes, regarding the raccoon, here are pictures of that same one who was
upstairs on my deck eating while poor "Socks" was looking sadly into my
bedroom:  http://www.possibleplaces.com/raccoon/.

He's really funny.  When I feed the ferals and strays (and neighbor's cats)
at night I clink the metal bowls together and yell, "Kitty, kitty hungry?"
to call the cats to dinner.  Well, the raccoon has learned what that means
too and he comes running when he hears me and looks up eagerly while I put
the bowls down!  ;>  I usually fend him off while the cats eat first because
he is such a pig and will gobble up everything whereas the cats will usually
just eat their fill and leave a lot for him.

Maybe some evening he will turn up in one of those little
glasses-nose-and-mustache disguises. ;)

You know, I love your website.  Even my DH likes (expeshully the Harley
cat) it.  I told him the story (edited of course, my memory is not
*that* good) about the finding of Demi, and a story you'd had posted
somewhere about leaving Bandit at home while you and your honey were on
a trip (there was a catsitter?).  He said he'd kill the cat...  Then I
showed him a picture of her (my what beeyootifull eyes) and he
instantly retracted the killing comment. :)

Thank you, Annie!

LOL!  Yeah, I can forgive a cat *anything* as soon as they slay me with
those gorgeous eyes!

Has Sammy got Maine Coon in her?

Even Nox, trim and svelte at 12 pounds, isn't near that big a queen.

Our bits, though they have lynx-tufts, didn't get any size genes.
They'd be an ideal weight at 9 pounds (Kumani's just over 9, and
Tyche-the household fatty-is over ten)

I think she must have, but I don't know for sure since she's a moggie.  What
frightens me is that people tell me that Maine Coons can keep growing until
they're three years old!!!  ;>

Ohmygawd, I *LOVE* those lynx-tufts.  That's the *ONLY* Maine Coon
characteristic that Sammy doesn't have.
