....Muscat seems to think we have LOTS of them.  He's always had a rather
vigourus stroke, when it comes to his box visits.  But now, he's gotten into
the habbit of digging in both boxes when he's got the zoomies.  I'm talking
FLYING kitty litter... I'm sure he's defending against many, many greeblings
& keeping my house safe... But, I think I'm going to have to by covered
litter boxes, as I'm having to vacume twice a day when I scoop.... *sigh*

Careful if you change the box... our girls are extremely vigorous
diggers so it was the obvious thing to do - only not to them! They
hated the covered box so much they refused to use it and started
looking for alternative venues...

Maybe our boxes are infested by greeblings too - Scout certainly
spends long enough scrabbling around in there :)

Nocturne exhumes when she's frustrated....she used to put the majority
of litter over the lip of the box.  The more Smokey pestered her, the
more she exhumed.

Since the intro of the bitties, Smokey has playmates and Nocturne has
peace, and now exhuming is rare.

That's another of the dangers Harri Roadcat has to protect me from. And
she is a VERY energetic flinger. Just imagine how much fun that is when
the two of us and her litterbox are riding around in a compartment about
the size of a largish broom closet.

I finally asked Nancy to find us a small covered litter box that would
still fit in the passenger footwell. She found us one that fits
perfectly. Harri still flings with the same vigor as before, but now
having only a reasonably small door cutout means that most of what she
flings stays in the box. But I still have to sweep out the cab of the
truck at least once a week.

This is one of the things where Mere has shown me how slack the older
cats have been with their duties as greebling hunters. I always thought
Frank was a vigorous digger, but Mere has shown us all what real digging
is. She spends a good several minutes digging and flinging litter around
vefore she uses the litterbox. She does it to both boxes before she can
use either one. The boxes must really be infested with greeblings. Good
thing we have some new blood in the house to take care of the problem.

My Sassy flings litter and she has a covered box. It still manages to
get all over the floor. I swear she does it on purpose. So I turned the
opening around to face the wall that way I don't have to step in it.
