There is going to be a TWO hour finale!!!!!! Woohoo!!! Party night. DVD set
of season 1 to be released Sept. 6. If  you have not watched the show it is
WELL worth your money to get this set. Easily the best written and acted
show I have seen on TV in eons. At *least* since DS9 and I might even give
it a one up on that because there are so many layers.

My only real problem with Lost is I'm so afraid that the answers when they
come will not live up to the questions as they have been presented.

I so love this show.

Well I also hate that they run it 61 or 62 minutes so it screws up my TIVO
so I can't record CSI NY.

That is annoying. They do that so that you have to watch more closely and
"live" to see the commercials.

I have no doubt that very few questions will be answered. But it fascinating
to watch the threads develop and weave together. I have also no doubt that
not ALL the questions will ever be answered, but some will.

I have the same problem because we get The West Wing and King of Queens at
9:00.  So even with two Tivo's, we can't catch the last couple minutes of
Lost.  I always have to go look up what happened in that minute, and we
never see the previews.

I love the West Wing! On Sunday nights here you can watch one episode
(a rerun but I just recently discovered the show so have not seen many of
the old episodes) at 11:35 and another at 1:00 am!

I've never even heard of it.  What genre is it, please?

Wow. How to classify "Lost". It's mystery, thriller, adventure, paranormal,
drama, comedy, with a little romantic intrigue thrown in. It's about a plane
that crashes on an island a thousand miles off course. There are 48
survivors. The twist is, there is something wierd about the Island and it
seems like each person is there for a reason. Some kind of fate or destiny.
You have NO idea about any of these people and each person's back story is
slowly revealed through back flashes (very skillfully done and intriguingly)
but no character is what they seem on the surface. Even the actors are not
allowed to know ahead of time so there is a great deal of mystery. It's
outstanding.

The skill in writing is wonderful, and there is clearly a story arc that has
been pre-written as the threads of stories about each different individual
is slowly and carefully interwoven.

I thinkthe only other TV series that it couldbe described as remotely
similar in genre is Twin Peaks, but as much as I loved Twin Peaks, this is
even better.

And its also got *excellent* quality eye-candy too, *drool*.

Yes, the writers have assured everyone that unlike David Lynch, there ARE
answers.

to import the DVDs.

Any idea if they plan to repeat the first season on TV? I wasn't even
in the country when it started so I haven't watched a single episode
even though I've heard all these great things about it... it's
obvioulsy something that you have to see from end to end and not jump
about it.

I"m sure they will rerun the whole thing this summer. It does need to be
seen in order. The finale is May 25 so probably after that time. It's on
ABC.
