Argh, seems like I've been running at full speed the last few days.
And I hate Sundays. Sundays are Vaccine clinic days, so we have all
the walk ins and regular appts. Most of the walk ins were dogs needing
vaccines.
Also a bunch of animals were finally picked up by their owners so we
have less animals to take care of. We still have a bunch, but
significantly less. And Bernie, who's a silkie terrier bit my finger
as I was trying to pill him. I'm okay, but it's a little sore.
Sunday was hell for me because my car wouldn't start. it just wouldn't
turn over. And it was a day before I was going to take it to the shop.
Talk about bad timing. I wait an hour for the tow truck guy and when
he finally shows up he just put a booster on my battery and the thing
starts up. So I get to work an hour late.
Today I managed to get my car to the shop and got it tuned up and
everything. The shop is just up the street from the vet clinic and it
turns out that the mechanic I worked with is a client. So now I'm $328
lighter. It would have been more since I also have a cracked
windshield, but they had the wrong size. Well since I'm putting in so
much overtime and need to pay bills, I think I will wait a few weeks
until I get my next paycheck.
But at least my car works now, and that's a big weight off my
shoulders.
tomorrow is a long day, I have kennel duty, Small Animal Lab, diving
practice, Small Animal Lecture, and then work yet again. fortunately,
we hired two more people so I get Wednesday off from work. Of course
Wednesday is my busy day at school, so it's not really a break.
I have a big test in Clinical Procedures on wednesday, mostly on
anesthetic drugs. I've made flash cards, but most of the info is just
not sticking. urgh......
Okay, time to go back to writing my lab report that's also due
wednesday.

Hang in there, Kristi! I would never have the energy to do all you do.
(purrs for your finger and for the test and report).

Just think -- one day you will refer to this as "the good old days">
Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Best wishes. MLB

Urgh,
I found out I got a 72% on my Small Animal Nursing test, dang it. I
did very well on the essay but I totally choked on the multiple
choice. I'm not sure which questions I missed, but this teacher has a
tendency to write weird questions; questions that leave the answer up
in the air, so it almost comes down to opinion when choosing the
answer. *sigh*
I had to work today and again we were short. We're trying to close up
when at five minutes to six a dog is brought back that needs x-rays,
bloodwork and a fecal. Great.........
The good part is that most of hte animals have gone home, so there are
less to take care of.
I'm right now cramming for this test. I made flashcards and everything
but it doesn't seem to be sticking. I'm totally blowing off the lab
report. It's only worth 5 points and this test is way more important.
I"m even blowing off working on the farm tomorrow morning so I can
study. I don't know how late I'll be up tonight, but I'm GOING get
this info down. Argh..........
I don't have to work again until Thursday, but I wish I could just
sleep in tomorrow.

BOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I got 38 out of 50 on my Clin Pro test. THa'ts a 76%
Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
The highest grade was a 45, so it was hard test, but fortunately she's
going to be grading on a curve, so I have a potential raise it up
It just really sucked because she gave us our current grades before the
test, and I was pulling by with a 90% in the class. I was pissed
because I knew if I didn't get an A on the test my grade was going to
drop. And the chances of me getting an A was slim to none.
I now I have a B in the class, and I'm going to have to make sure I
study hard to boost it up. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr................
B's are okay, and they are passing, but I'm an overachiever. I like
getting A's.
Okay, time to go do the dishes, come up with something for dinner and
write my lab report on blood transfusions,
That is, AFTER I've had a cold beer......

Kristi,
Sometimes you can over study for an exam and end up second guessing
yourself. By the time I was in grad school, I realized that if I didn't
know it by the time of the test cramming the night before sure wasn't going
to stick.
[Motherly advise mode on] Make sure to take some breaks, and do something
completely different, so you brain can process it. Also make sure to get
some sleep the night before. Your brain processes over night and all night
study sessions tend to make you sleepy. [Motherly advise mode off.]

Sounds like the teacher isn't doing such a good job of teaching '-((
Back in the 70's, between my junior and senior years in highschool I
took a college economics class for math/science high school students.
It was a disaster, since none of the high schools offered calculus
until senior year, and it was supposed to be a prequisite for the
course. The teacher ended up grading on a straight curve - A through D
and no Fs. (one of the students was home schooled because she had had
mono, and she had taken calculus)

Awww - don't sweat it! A "B" is a decent grade. :) Don't forget to
take care of yourself. It's really easy to get run down when you are
burning it at both ends like it seems you are.
