CatNipped - 02 Apr 2005 19:15 GMT Here are some pictures of Bandit's wounds as of this morning. I am just continually amazed at the recuperative powers of our feline friends.
If you click on each of these pictures you can see the full-sized picture directly from the camera. I did this for two reasons - first you can see how well the wounds have healed in only two weeks, and second you can see how *beautifully* tipped she is. Especially on her back where the hair is shaved you can see how each hair starts at the root as brown then darkens to almost black and even has some yellow spots - gorgeous!

Shiral - 06 Apr 2005 21:33 GMT When I'm "her age" in comparative human years, I hope I look that good! Hooray for Bandit's remarkable recuperative powers. And she does have very nicely shaded fur, I agree. It's also nice living with Tabby cats. When they shed, their loose hairs show a remarkable variety of color schemes from light to dark or dark to light, and back again. =o)

BTW, gentlecat or not, Pan says HE plans to be the first cat to reach age 50, thank you very much. As he is 17 years old, I think he's got a decent claim to the honor.

Thank you, you're right, but then I think all cats are stunning - even poor old "whitely" outside with the scarred up face and the half an ear whom I've been trying to TNR for over a year but who's too street-smart to be trapped (he's never hungry enough to go for the food when it's inside the trap since he's quit hefty and can hunt his own dinner if needs be).

Gabey8 - 02 Apr 2005 22:07 GMT I think it's high time I mentioned what an INCREDIBLE color Bandit's eyes are. :o) I don't think I have ever met, in person, a kitty with eyes as green as hers.
Stanley's eyes are yellow-green, although in photos they sometimes appear a few shades greener than they actually are. But Bandit's eyes, in every pic, are such a brilliant green.
Do tell her I think she's a gorgeous girl for me. ;o) And I'm very happy that she's making such a good recovery.

She's looking sleek and sassy and little the worse for wear. Good for her. When her fur grows back the scars will be hard to find. I wonder if she will have bald patches like Nox does...though Nox has deep belly scars, the belly is pretty fuzzy and the scars are hard to find--bu tthe back of her neck has a dime size hairless patch.

Nox's belly scars are from a botched spay by a stupid vet and/or vet tech who used out of date expired stitching which burst and gave her a hernia, then another subsequent operation to stitch her up properly by another vet.
The bald spot...beats us. The humane society found a little round scab on her neck. They took it off, checked it for ringworm (it wasn't) and told us the hair would grow back. It didn't :)

I'm glad her pain is over and she's on her way to recovery - now we just have to pack a little more weight on her bones and she should be good as new (well, at least after her hair grows back).

However, >PetsMart has the denim Harley-Davidson jackets and matching hats, but DH >won't let me spend the $35 to get them! :< I spent several years as a biker (the motorcycle kind -- the bicycle racer phase came much later). My outfit was not nearly as neat as Bandit's though. Maybe I should have had one of my two bitties (Cocoa and Pickles, both long since gone to wait for us at the bridge) lick it clean.
Wait a minute, engine oil is bad for cats, isn't it! (well of course it is!)
