Something totally unexpected this time.. suddenly this morning her eye was
very weepy and had closed over. Took her to the vet who took one look at her
and referred us on to an opthalmologist.. there are only two in Perth. So
had a very long drive.. this vet was really great. Took the time to explain
everything.. and gave me his mobile phone number and permission to call at 2
in the morning if need be.

Something has hurt her eye, there is a little hole and an air bubble in
there. She is wearing a collar and having drops and antibiotics, the eye has
sealed itself so we're hoping it will heal without intervention. Shes not
altogether too happy! Because of her age and her kidneys anaesthetic is
risky..

I called the vet tonight because the eye looks like its leaking again so I
will call again in the morning and see if its improved. I'm stressing out a
bit obviously.

I appreciate having somewhere to come and vent
And find understanding of how stressful our pets can  be!

Oh my goodness!!! Eye healing purrs on the way. I'm glad you have an
opthamologist in driving distance at least. I wonder what happened. Poor
Sesame and poor you. Gentle skritches and hugs.

Many purrs, for you and for Sesame.  We hope she'll be just fine,
though it may take a little time.  We understand her "sulking", poor
kitty.  Ours have had to have E-collars and it ain't no fun!!!  Hugs.

Purrs coming - and purrs for everyone else who needs them too.

I've been working lots of OT again, so I'm *WAY* behind on the group and
feeling *WAY* guilty about it.

Hugs,

Poor Sesame.  Purrs that she heals swiftly and can get that awful
collar off her!  And purrs for your sanity, too :-)

It can be more frustrating than dealing with a sick child.  A child
can tell us where it hurts, but infants and pets can't.  Purrs for
your frazzled nerves and of course for the eye to heal up.

Thankyou all for your replies and purrs, much appreciated! We went again to
see the vet on Sunday morning, her eye was looking a little worse but he
said he's not convinced yet that surgery is the only option. We're watching
out to see if it starts leaking again and hoping it heals ok. Its looking ok
tonight... although she is getting stressed out by the e-collar so I have
taken it off for a while and I'm watching her as closely as I can to see
that she doesnt start rubbing her eye.

The vet called to check on her while I was at work today as well, which was
nice.

Keeping our fingers crossed and purrs going!
