Mom got Petrus neutered yesterday and it has just been a big trauma. He
came out ok but she was very mad at the vets just for their general
treatment of her. However, now this morning, it seems Petrus has some blood
back there so she is taking him back in. I just don't know. He's very white
so of course any bleeding shows up much worse than with other cats. I just
never had a boy cat be very bothered by this surgery. She did say he seemed
to feel OK. So any purrs for Petrus and Mom are appreciated. I think she has
been crying. :(  And to top it off Pearl has diarehha for some reason :(   I
will give her bland food today and see if that nips it in the bud. I have
been adding new foods into her diet and so maybe it is that adjustment but
the poor girl is uncomfortable. Boy, 2005 just keeps getting lousier and
lousier.

Aww, poor Mom.  When BF got the snip last summer, the vet warned me that he
would probably bleed from his scrotum for two days.  It wasn't easy to tell,
as his nether regions are tabby, but he certainly licked himself a lot there
for about 2 days.  After that he was fine, although he chose to stay mainly
inside for about two weeks afterwards.
Please tell your mom Petrus will be absolutely fine very soon, and he'll be
grateful he doesn't have to go out and fight to be a big man!

I nearly didn't get Boyfriend done.  He was so *not* a dominant fighting
tom, and if a girlie ever went up to him and said how about it? I suspect he
would be too shy and feign a headache.

However, I thought it was a good idea when I realised he had decided that he
finally lived here and felt safe.  It's the right thing to do - although I
can't help thinking that a few BF sons or daughters with his temperament in
the community would not necessarily be a bad thing.

Changing the food can often cause the poopies.  We are both hoping for nice
firm thingies in the litterbox soon.

Awww, Karen. Lots of purrs and good wishes for your Mom and Petrus and
soothing stomach purrs for Pearl. Scritches to Pearl and Sugar as well.

Well, it seems like it is probably normal bleeding, you just don't see that
on longer and darker haired cats like we've always had. Petrus has a skinny,
blindingly white butt with short oriental hair. He did, however, get a cone.
I doubt mom will use it much but she is trying for now. He seems to be
feeling well, although the trip to the vet today made him throw up :(  Poor
kitty. He only weighs 4.9 lbs, but that is all muscle. He's built JUST like
an oriental, sans the skinny face and big ears, and all of those I've seen
are about his size. He is 3, but only this year began exhibiting "male
maturity". Has always been indoors since he was about 6 months old when mom
scooped him inside. He had been hanging out on her roof for weeks. Tried to
find an owner but no one ever came forth (he is THE nicest cat). Anywho, I
think all is fine and mom feels a bit better.

Pearl still has poopy butt thought :(

Purrs for Petrus and Mom. I think i would be worried, too. I have
never had a cat bleed after the snip. May Mom ought to think about
changing vets since she doesn't like his attitude anyway.

And purrs for Pearl. Diarrhea is not fun for her or you. I hope it
clears up soon. Maybe she can't tolerate the new food. Or maybe it
should only be fed in very small amounts. What food is it? I remember
when the vet wanted me to feed Iams Hairball Formula food to my cats.
I ended up feeding it by itself as a whole portion. the cats got
diarrhea like mad. I experimented and found a balance of a tablespoon
sprinkled on a portion of regular food.

She is going to. There is another one that is in a hard location to get to,
but I think she will get much better treatment. The incisions seems to be
clotting up now that the cone has made them unaccessible. I think she will
take it off tomorrow. He seems to be feeling fine now. Mom sounds much
better this afternoon as well.

I have been feeding her the regular wet Petguard and the occasional
wellness. I did get some Fancy Feast hard for a small treat. I made some
boiled chicken and rice with a little yogurt in it. She ate a bitof that for
supper. She is clearly uncomfortable. She has had small bouts of diarreha
before, but she seems worse this time. So we are going to stick with that
tonight and go back to the completely old regime if she seems better
tomorrow with no extra treat. I don't think that there was enough of that to
matter, but you never know. I feel bad for her. Poor girl. I suppose too
they are still stressed over Grant. I suppose just too much change all at
once, but if it isn't better by Sunday off to the vet we go (although that
sometimes makes her puke!)
