After Chablis's latest TED visit & with an owie right near her front paw....
I figured she'd slow down a bit. NOT SO. I kept her inside yesterday, much
to her dismay. (note; the furballs get limited outside time. Only during the
day & only when I'm home, when I go out or am off to work in the evenings I
get them in with the help of their favorite dried salmon treat.)
Anyway, she begged to be let out after her morning feed today & not 20 min
later she's in through the cat door with another bird in her mouth!!!
Sheesh!!!! I'm gonna have to start de-worming her every month. My thoughts
turn towards giving the birds a better chance, but I'm not sure how...
Chablis has allready gone through 3 breakaway collars & I'm afraid if I put
a non breakaway on her she'll get stuck somewhere & hurt. I am one of those
people who belive that cats are predators, no matter how much we've
domesticated them... But I would like to even the odds a bit, as Chablis
seems to be at her predatory peak right now.

I personally never believed they'd help, but you could try a bell on
her collar. I know it's tough...

Our neighbour used to have this collar which beeped on one of her cats
to try and let the birds know she was coming. Where she got it I
couldn't tell you. I think the RSPB magazines usually sell things to
protect birds from cats in them.

Bagheera has one of those collars, doesn't seem to make any difference.
