Hi there:

Otis and I were playing tag the other night.  I was chasing him down the
hardwood floor hall and he was going full speed, though having some obvious
traction problems.  As he passed by the carpeted stairway bottom, he reached
out with his close paw and dug into the carpet on the first step.  His rear
end swung around on the hardwood until he was facing up the stairs, and he
took off up the stairs.  Very clever little fellow and very funny to see!

Oh, ever since Stinky was a hoolikitten, he does flip-turns on the
stairs.  He digs his claws into the stair below him, and somersaults
over it, A$$ over teakettle, then takes off back up again.  ;)

I have open steps (no back to the step) that are carpeted all the
way around.  It never fails to scare me when one of the kitties
lays on her back on one step, hooks her claws into the one above,
and hangs upside down from bottom of the upper step.  So far
no one has fallen off and down into the lower stairs!  All four
seem very talented as velcro kitties.

He must have been a race car driver in a past life! What a clever boy,
though. =o)

I have hardwood floors.  When Cinders gets in one of her
race-around-the-house moods, it is comical seeing her make a
right-angle turn on the polished floor.  Despite having her full set
of claws, the turns involve much skidding and scrabbling.
