Unfortunately it looks like Deuce, the kitten born with two faces didn't

I'm not surprised a bit, as that is what M. Nature usually
does w/her mistakes....hoomin or otherwise. Poor little
kitty is happy now w/company @ RB.

Poor little bitty. But goodness only knows what hidden physical problems it
might have had, if its development was so out-of-the-ordinary as to cause
it to have two faces.
I hope it didn't suffer during its too-short life. And at least we KNOW
it's healthy and strong now.

Comrades of our past were they,
Of that unreturning day.
Changed and aging, they and we
Dwelt, it seemed, in sympathy.
Alway from their presence broke
Somewhat which remembrance woke
Of the loved, the lost, the young--
Yet they died, and died unsung....
Fare thee well, companion dear!
Fare for ever well, nor fear,
Tiny though thou art, to stray
Down the uncompanion'd way!
We without thee, little friend,
Many years have not to spend;
What are left, will hardly be
Better than we spent with thee.

Warm summer sun
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind
Blow softly here,
Green sod above
Lie light, lie light--
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Wattle_ (1893) by Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain) as the epitaph
for his daughter, Olivia Susan Clemens

*lights a candle for Deuce*
When I was young, one of our cows had a calf with no eyes. "Blinkers"
was otherwise healthy, but because he was blind, my dad was afraid he
would injure himself as he got larger by running into things. He was
sold for veal. I was sad because I had taught him to walk on a
halter, so he could get some exercise outside of his little pen. Had
he been a kitty, Blinkers would have probably had a long life as a
healthy, albeit blind, cat (like Duffy). I was hoping for Duffy's
lifestyle for Deuce. But Deuce is at rest now.

It's very sad, but's it's probably as well, he is now a whole properly
formed baby kittie at RB and will be cared for by all that went before.

Poor little thing! He'll be whole and perfect in that land over the bridge,
I'm certain of it.
Blessed be,
Baha
