is two cats trying to get their heads inside a tissuebox (empty)
because meowmie was mean and put a teaspoon of catnip in there instead
of putting it down on the floor where it was easy to get to.

It was hysterical! Scout hasn't really been interested in catnip
before now, but something caught her attention about this lot... they
took it in turns to get their paws and noses in the box and then
they'd shove their whole head in - and realise that they were stuck!
Cue frantic backing up over the livingroom floor until they hit
something and dislodged the box (or I helped them out of it) And then
they'd go back for more... they kept at it until every last little
scrap was gone and then they sprawled out on the floor to recouperate.

Later on I got them going again - they haven't been interested in
their cat teepee since they were spayed (I think because Silver
retreated into it for a few days and made it smell like vet) so I
washed it. They still weren't interested so I sprinkled some catnip
inside... and then they spent the rest of the afternoon trying to get
it all out! At one point Silver lay there on the floor with her front
end in the teepee, and Scout tried to climb over her back to get in
too. A few minutes later  I turned around and all I could see was two
tails poking out the entrance, because they were BOTH crammed in
there! There wasn't really room for two cats in that little teepee,
and after a short tussle Scout said something along the lines of
'you're too fat for this little space!' and evicted Silver.

I think we can say they're both nipheads now :)

LOL, now you're giving ME wicked thoughts.... <G>

Actually, the thing that gave me the biggest cat laughs  was the foot
spa my sister gave me for my birthday.  What gave her the idea, I don't
know, but it's like a baby jacuzzi that has lost its mother, and you
soak your feet in it. It feels nice but... it's also another sizeable
object that I have to figure out how to store and keep out of the way
when I'm not using it. Also, not a thing I'd ever have bought for
myself Dry, unplugged and turned off, it was an object of GREAT
interest to all three cats.  Nina being such a water  kitten,
comparatively speaking, I thought the minute I turned it on, I'd have
company, if not actual competition for the thing. So on Friday night, I
filled it with warm water, plugged it in, stuck my feet in it  and
turned it on.  Nina and Francesca watched from a safe distance at
first, gradually creeping closer, clearly totally flummoxed by what
their crazy hoomin was up to, now. After I was finished, I turned it
off and dried my feet, but watched while Nina crept close enough to
sniff at it.  Then she began to whack it experimentally, raising her
paw high between "baps" On her last attempt, she hit the "On/Off"
button Poor little tyke gave a great leap backwards when those jets of
water started bubbling up. =o)

Since Mischief is trying so hard to get out.  I tried that

Got an empty kleenex box, added catnip and one of her mousies

She sniffed at it. then pawed at the mousie, sniffed again and walked
off

hmph......

Now Imp is interested in it.......

mouse is out, but he's still sniffin the box

Well at least one cat is entertained for the moment

Very cute!  The reason why they suddenly like catnip is probably
because they are just now getting old enough.  I've heard that catnip
doesn't affect cats until they are at least 6-8 months old.

Hi Britta,

The youngest I have had a kitten react to catnip is 3 weeks old. (litter of
6.) It was hilareous! Here these little bitties can barely walk, and they
are getting the catnip crazies! <G> They were rolling around, attacking each
other and acting just like their momma did when she had the 'nip. Now these
bitties are almost 3 years old, and they still act nutty when the 'nip comes
out!

I now have both the empty kleenex box and a fresh supply of catnip...
Bwhahahahahaha! Watch out, pussycats!

I spent the morning taking my mom to physical therapy and the bank, and
getting her shopping done while she was at her PT appointment but when
I got home (With the fresh catnip supply,) I was treated to an
afternoon of exceptionally playful girl cats before I did more than
show them the bag. Wonder if they were getting off on the mere fumes!
Nina put on a hilarious demonstration of attacking her tail while lying
on the bedroom floor, and she and Francesca enthusiastically chased the
red dot greebling for some time.  Between red dot sessions, they chased
one another and wrestled.  Pan just sat on the clock radio and yawned.
I could almost see the thought balloon over his head thinking  "REALLY!
The younger generation, these days.."
