Masha - 25 Mar 2005 22:13 GMT Well I can't get in to newsgroups on Google at the moment, so I'm having a go on Outlook, I hope this works as I've finally found out how to share photos - don't laugh at me please it's taken me nearly all day to figure this out - I'm useless at this sort of thing, anyway here goes.

Susan M - 26 Mar 2005 03:45 GMT He's very handsome! When I find my one pic of my childhood scamp, I'll post it. Scamp and Otis of Walthamstow look very similar!

He has the most lovely eyes, very big, shame about the red eye photo. He looks so sleek now, since he's been treated for his diabetes, he used to be a bit of a roly poly but now he's just the right weight, still wants to eat like a pig though, but I think that's just out of habit, it's hard to say no when he begs but I have to, and he doesn't get tidbits as I'm vegetarian and he won't eat my food. Having said that, sometimes if I have veggie sausages he gets confused and begs so I give him a little piece but he ends up using it as a football and I usually find it a few days later festering under the furniture. All in all, he's pretty good for a lad of maturing years.

Another slinky inky, as I call them. ;) How long have you lived in Walthamstow? I was there last time I was in the UK. I went to see the WIlliam Morris house.

The trouble with London is that it's so big that it's really like a collection of villages - and whilst it was all exciting while I was in my 20's, I now loathe the West End and all the tourist places, far too busy, too expensive, and... too full of tourists! Especially in the summer when you can't get around for the crowds, I think they should have one side of the street for tourists and one side for us lot that are late for work and need to hurry - only joking, it's the variety of life here that keeps it interesting. Although I do yen for a nice beach or bit of countryside sometimes. Still Epping Forest is only 10 minutes from where I live and that IS breathtaking.

Epping Forest? Is that near Epping the last tube stop on the Central Line?

I adore London, but I have to agree with you that it can be quite a battle in tourist season. Last time I was there, I actually stayed in a village in Surrey and took the train in. That was wonderful.

I lived in Battersea for 20 years which was nice. I thought Dorking was a town not a village. What does "gerunds" mean? I assume you didn't get the train in from Dorking during the rush hour :) that's why I work evenings, I can't cope with the underground during rush hour, I'm too claustrophobic. Did you know Walthamstow has it's own village?

No, I was luckily able to avoid rush hour, since I was on vacation. I didn't have to "rush." ;)

Is that near Epping the last tube stop on the Central Line? Yes it is, although it's a very large forest and I can walk to one part of it. I've also been on the overground to Chingford where you can also get into the forest, it's really beautiful around there and only 10 minutes on the train from here. You can't actually believe you're still basically in London when you go there.
