This afternoon we had to drop a trailer at the rail yard in French Camp.
It was sunny and breezy and a little chilly so I put my cap on when I
got out of the truck to unhook. I finished up, climbed back into the
truck, and got us checked out of the rail yard.

As soon as we were rolling again Harri jumped up in my lap. I
immediately took my cap off to save her the trouble of knocking it off.
As soon as I did Harri sat up tall and washed the entire right side of
my face. It was as if she was saying "Good human! Since you took that
ugly thing off I'll give you an extra-special face washing as a reward".
And I appreciated it - even when it tickled.

Indeed! It took her only a couple of days to train him.

She's a bright kitty - time to wash the human and make sure he's not wearing
one of those silly caps that will embarrass me!

Awww!  She knows the proper training techniques for teaching hoomins to do
her bidding!  ;>

Dan,
I don't have much time to participate on the group, other than lurking, but
I want you to know that I really enjoy your postings about your experiences
on the road with Harri.
Please keep them coming.

Since I love talking about my kitties, I'll be delighted to!

Tonight ought to be interesting. We're spending the night at the truck
stop in Ripon, CA - the truck stop where there is an almond orchard
nearby. I'm sure we're going to have to take a walk through the orchard
this evening. I'll just see if we can set off before sunset so it won't
be quite so dark. And it should help that we've got a good moon tonight.

I'm surprised that Harri has taken to the truck so well....

Though my dad had a farmcat, and she was a spoiled pet.  One day dad's
trucker friend Larry stopped by, and while they were talking, Vedette
hopped into Larry's cab and fell asleep.  Larry was driving back down
the lane to leave when suddenly he slammed on the brakes, we heard
this yell of #@$#@ING CAT!!! the door opened and Vedette DASHED across
the lawn for cover!!!

It probably helps that I brought Harri into the truck when she was
little (about 3 months), and that she got to spend the first day and a
half in the sleeper with the engine running most of the time but the
truck not moving.

PS: Hopefully you can find some sort of sun protection that Harri will
approve.

I'm glad to hear that you and Harri Roadcat are taking good care
of you.  I love your stories.

Speaking of licking faces, a friend's cat (called Kiss-Kiss) gives
face licks, but for some reason ends up nibbling my nose as well.
He doesn't do that to anyone else, so I guess I just taste the
best!
