The weather on the west coast has been kind of sunny  recently (aside
from the last week) so I decided it was time to pick up a hat to keep
from crisping my mostly-bald head. I went into the truck stop
convenience store last night and bought a couple of baseball caps.

Harri has never seen me wear a ball cap before. This morning as we were
preparing to pull out I put on my sunglasses and a ball cap. An hour or
so later Harri came up on my lap like usual for an arm snuggle, and
that's when she noticed the ball cap.

She lay on her back in my arms staring fixedly at the ball cap for a few
minutes. Then she sat up and began sniffing the bill of the cap. Then
she started pushing on it, hard, with her nose/ Then the paws came up
and shoved it off my head.

Later in the day I put it back on, then Harri up for another arm
snuggle. Once again it was sniff, nudge, paw until it came off.  I guess
she just doesn't like ball caps.

Harri is trying to show you that the fashion statement
is to wear it *backwards* with bill at back of head!
OTOH, that's *so* last-year......Doorags are the "in"
head attire of the moment, I believe.

Now that's a thought - me in a doorag. That would look so funny I don't
think I'd be able to stop laughing at myself.

Oh I hate those things. When guys wear the doorags it looks like they
have a condom on their head.

Yep, and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

I know what you mean. I try to give Frank and Nikki a lot of attention,
so they won't be jealous of the little one, but Mere is such a little
slut! She clamours for attention all the time. She comes and stands on
her back feet and paws at my legs to be lifted up. I've never had such a
snuggle bunny before. Frank and Nikki were so stand-offish the first
days/weeks of being with me, and neither wanted to be in my lap until
just a few years ago. Mere is really taking over here. What a little
charmer. She knows exactly how to melt a hoomin heart. She'll be running
things around here in no time.

Maybe it's just the color.  Next time, take her shopping with you and let
her pick! :-)

LOL! Harri could start her own TV show. "Kitty Eye for the Hoomin Guy".
;o)

Maybe she's objecting because the ball cap has the logo of the wrong team.
I recommend a cap with the logo of a team like the Villanova Wildcats,
Nittany Lions, Detroit Tigers, etc. Maybe Harry will give a cap like that
the stamp of approval. :o)

That could well be the problem! I'll have to try one of those.

How funny!  She's like a teenager.

That *is* what her behavior looks like! This morning she dispensed with
the sniff-sniff-nudge-nudge-paw-paw routine. As soon as we were rolling
she climbed up in my lap, sat up tall, and bap-bap-bap knocked the cap
right off.

I guess I should try the other one and see if it's the color.  If she
doesn't like that one either it'll be back to my ugly-looking bucket hats.

Or try some sunblock on the top of your head! (waterproof).  I have very
pale skin that burns to a crisp within a few minutes.  My LLL (long lost
love) is bald on top.  When we do his art shows we are often sitting in the
sun for hours, even if he requests a shaded spot (hey, you can't control the
sun!).  I bought the strongest waterproof sunblock I could find and insist
on slathering it not only on me but on the top of John's head.

P.S.  I'm absolutely in love with your little Harri-girl :)

It's traditional for aircraft navigators to wear their caps backwards.
Maybe she's critiquing your map reading skills?

Considering how badly I've gotten lost when I ignore my mapping
computer, that's entirely possible!

gallon kind!!!  ;>
