The landlord sold the building :-(

After two months shy of 19 years with Ken as my landlord, he finally
decided to get out of the rental business, and sold the building
(ironically, he sold it back to the same guy he bought it from!).

I've been assured that our rent will stay low and cats will be okay.
I surely hope this is the case.

I won't be doing anymore apartment manager duties, though.  Gary, the
new guy, likes to do that himself.  So no more breaks on the rent,
which has helped us out tremendously.  Heck, that's how we got this
computer I'm typing on right now!  But I suppose it means less hassles
for me, too.

It's very strange and scary to go through such a major change.  To
have the same landlord for 19 years is a long time.  We've been in
each other's lives longer than our spouses ever were (at this point,
at least).  Heck, Ken was even at Richard's and my wedding.

I'm gonna miss him.  And I really hope that my life isn't turned
upside down by this change.

Purrs that things will still be OK at your place, and that you are worrying
about nothing.

Still, I know how you feel, such a change would upset me alot too.

Hugs to you. It is scary. I just hope all stays well. Did you ever know this
previous Gary guy? Can you get to know him? Is he nice? I mean, it might be
very helpful in ways. Mega purrs. How is everything else going? Getting any
better? I sure hope so. Think of you lots.

Thank you, {{{{Karen}}}}.  Things aren't getting any better yet, but
I'm working on it.  I really hope for some positive change here soon.

I don't know what will happen with Gary.  He struck me as a little
humorless.  It took me years to build up a good relationship with Ken,
so I'm not expecting miracles.  But I'm open.

Thanks for caring, Karen and everyone else, too.  It's much
appreciated.

Lots of purrs and best wishes you soon find some work that you like and pays

I'm sorry, Ginger-lyn. We'll be purring that the new landlord doesn't
bring any big changes into your life, at least not bad ones.

I am very glad that your rent will stay low and the cats are ok. But
cross your fingers and hope everyone purrs for you. Sometimes what
they say and do are two different things once they take over. That
happened to my sister. We are purring and praying that it stays the
same and that you and Gary will have a friendly owner/renter
relationship.

I'm glad that you at least got assurances on your rent and the cats.  That
must be a real load off.  Goodness - 19 years is a *very* long time!
