Debra Berry - 21 Mar 2005 16:53 GMT
Yesterday I took in a new foster.  She is about a year old
and has several health problems that we are trying to
help her recover from.  She was rescued from the home of a
"breeder" (should more correctly be called a hoarder)
who died, leaving 60 cats, most in terrible
condition.  It is very clear that this person did not
have the kitties seen by a vet and may not have been feeding
them well or consistently.  The cats that they thought could
be helped were taken to a shelter and our rescue group has
taken several of them and their kittens in.

Nadia has one damaged eye from a long term eye infection, she
came with ulcers/infection and diseased teeth in her mouth
almost unable to eat.  She also has terrible goop in her ears
.....and she came with 4 kittens, three are hers and one older
kitten (who only has one eye) she somehow adopted.  The kittens
are pretty healthy, except for improving eye infections.  They
are old enough to be weaned and are in another foster home.

Nadia is on antibiotics, eye medication, and ear medication.
She has had a fever, which resolved for a few days but seems
to be back.  I'll be taking her back to the vet this afternoon
to check on what's going on.  She misses her kittens and searched
for them last night.  Please send purrs and healing thoughts
for Nadia.  She was a good mother, even in horrendous circumstances,
and now it is time for her to rest, be cared for, and heal from
the mistreatment that she has suffered.  Amazingly, Nadia is
a very friendly, loving cat.  Please also send purrs for
the kittens, that they will grow strong and find wonderful homes.

Thank you so much.

Awww!  What a good little mom cat.  Purrs that she heals quickly both
physically and spiritually, and purrs for all the kitties rescued from that
horrible place - and kudos to you for helping Nadia.

Awwww, you are so sweet to have taken them in.  I guess mama-cat is missing
her kittens but she'll get over it (I suppose).  Purrs for Nadia, her
kittens and a great big THANK YOU for taking her in and nursing her back to
health.
