Heh....he doesn't look overly pleased at being held up like
that. I'm not sure I'd like to irritate a cat that large...;)
Do love large kitties, though. The first cat my family had that
was really *mine* weighed around 18.75 pounds, and no fat. Just
a big black cat, with a dash of Siamese in him. Any time I was
working on something, he was somewhere nearby, supervising...
Best natured cat, but I'd hesitate to get him angry....;)

<snip>
I once, to my shame, adopted a young cat, only to have him get out a
window I hadn't thought he could reach and vanish. I felt so guilty for
being careless, especially as he never turned up in spite of my searches.
One of the places I contacted called me and told me that someone had
reported finding a male orange cat. It was a bit further than I thought
reasonable for a lost cat to wander, but I checked it out anyway. The call
had been made by a very nice retired gentleman who appeared to have
devoted his retirement years to cats. He introduced me to four or five of
the biggest cats I have ever seen outside a zoo or TV documentary, and
told me all their life stories, as far as he knew them. Most if not all
of them had been lost or abandoned.
He proudly showed me how he had dedicated the attached garage to the
biggest (and cleanest) litter boxes I have ever seen. The cats themselves
were lounging on the furniture in the house iteself. They don't appear to
have been Maine Coons or Norwegian Forest Cats, just ordinary moggies
with a variety of fur colours and patterns, but they were enormous. They
didn't appear to be fat, either, as far as you could tell with the fur.
The orange cat he had found was larger, older, and definitely more
sexually mature than the one I had lost. It looked like it would fit
right in, as far as size goes!

OMG! And I thought Silver was getting long... she likes to lie
stretched out in a straight line with her front legs in front of her
head and her rear legs out the back... i measured her last week and
she is 30 inches long at full stretch - she takes up half our bed!

Peewee is almost that tall. he can sniff a door handle, too.

(gee, maybe I should measure him so he can be in Guinness? Nah - the
kind of "Guinness" he'd wanna be in isn't a book!)

I had a big old tomcat that could peek over the edge of the kitchen
table looking for goodies, but he wasn't half as big as the cat in the
picture.

What the heck?!? It says I'm not authorized to view the page! Is
this long cat only allowed to be viewed by a certain select group of
special people? I'm feeling discriminated against! ;-)

I was getting that message yesterday, but today I can see them just
fine. It was well worth the effort - they are BEAUTIFUL cats.

Haaaaa! Well, I only have 1 cat, but he's plenty long when he wants
to be. Unfortunately it's probably still a bit too short because I
tried it again today and I"m still not allowed in :-(

Good grief, that kitty is HUGE!! He's gorgeous, too. :o)
I knew that Maine Coon cats get big, but I didn't realize they could get
THIS large. Wow!
