Smokey's checkup

Today we took Smokeypoke to TED.  Getting Smokey in the carry box is
easy.

"Iiiiiii've got HAAAAAMMMM........psych."  *scoop Smokey, put in box*

Smokey was startled by the sight of a male vet.  Smokey likes to try
to pick up the lady vets.  Dr. Chisholm got hissed at.  Smokey is
apparently very hetero.

We had never heard a hiss out of Smokey before.  Anyway, I told Dr.
Chisholm to get food.  He did, and Smokey was suddenly his best buddy.

Smokey had a good checkup.  He has retained an exceptionally muscular
physique (earned through hunting prey in the forest) and not pigged
out since his weight is steady since last year.  Good boy!

In congratulations, we shared a ham sandwich with him tonight.

Wow. He would eat food at the vets? That is a true chowhound. Glad he had a
good check up!

Smokey horrified the vets who neutered him by waking up from surgery
and immediately proceeding to devour everything in sight...and keeping
it down, and shrieking for more.

I think for some cats the pre-anaesthetic fasting is the worse bit.
Poor Isis went into "cute kitten faces" overdrive, it was like "I
didn't do anything wrong so why are you trying to starve me to
death?!"

Then again her ambition was to die of obesity if she could. Just a few
minutes before she left us, virtually the last thing she did was lick
her bowl clean- no waste for that cat!

Great idea -- next time TuTu sees Ted, I shall supply some ham.  Hope it
works.   MLB

So glad to hear Smokey checked out well. What a character he is! I can
just imagine him flirting with the lady vets.
