I guess this is a new way for a parent to allay a child's fear of the dark.
Her story of 'catching the monster" is cute, even the way her daughter
helped and wants the monster to go to a good home & be comfortable.

I don't think that drawing is by a child. The lines are way too smooth
and long, and young kids don't cluster scribbles. It is also unusual
for the scribbles to be all the same direction, different colors,
repeated.
