You know, I talk about how bad Bandit is, and it's true, she's bad...
*BUT*...

For the last two weeks I've been wrapping her up in a towel and shoving
awful tasting liquids into her mouth every 12 hours.  I've been opening her
mouth and throwing bitter pills down her throat every 8 hours.  I've been
holding her down and spraying water on an extremely painful burn every 6
hours and then rubbing stinging paste into the burn afterwards.  I've been
tying a ridiculous bright blue collar around her neck that makes her trip
over her own feet.  I keep taking her back to the TED who did these awful
things to her!

And as *soon* as I put her down on my bed after any of those things she
waddles over to me, gives me head butts and starts purring.

It's very, *VERY* humbling!

She loves you and *knows* that you *are* trying to help her, no matter how
unpleasant it is.

Ping protests his meds, but then turned around last night and curled up on
the sofa with me while I watched Cold Case Files.  He even hugged my arm as
he wheezed, sneezed and snored.  I know we should be keeping him isolated,
but he is *so* much more social than Tennessee, and really hated being in
the bathroom away from everyone else, and let us know about it every time we
went in there, crying as loud (or even louder) than he did when he was in
our basement.

Awwww!  Poor little boy!  Is he supposed to stay away from Tennessee?  Can
you switch them to give each some time out with you, or is there chance of
contamination of items which Tennessee might come into contact with?

Tennessee is pretty much over his cold.  I think they *both* got it from our
vet, since they both went in to get checked (Tennessee had blood drawn, Ping
had his gums checked) at about the same time, and TED was himself battling
it.  I'm feeling kinda funny myself this morning, but I don't know if it's
from not sleeping good, or if now *I'm* coming down with it :(

Yes, their understanding, tolerance and speedy forgiveness put us
Hoomins to shame.

My Bandit huddles under heavy furniture when I've thrust an antibiotic
capsule down his throat but will soon come out to pheromone-mark my hand
and have a good cuddle. Every time.

Bless them all, the long & the short & the tall.

(Hmmm, wonder if there's a song in there somewhere?)

I know.  Pan has been on twice a day meds for the last year, and then I
brought a pregnant teen-ager home to live with him AND then her obstreporous
child.  I step on him and break his poor little leg, then make him spend 6
weeks in a splint and eight weeks in bandages. And yet, he still loves me.
=o) Just keep telling Bandit you do love her and you ARE sorry her medical
care is so uncomfortable.

She loves you. I know how you feel. Pilling time is hard
for our Buddha--she is a very willful and confident cat,
and she lets us know what she does not like. I try to
catch her in the middle of eating because it seems to go
down easier that way. But she hears the pills in the bottle
and waddles away fast, hiding under things if I can't get
her in time. Then her ears go back and she gets a belligerant
look in her eyes. I toss the pill to the back of her throat and
gently close her mouth and rub her throat while she grunts
these little "ohhhhh whyyy meeeeee, whyyyyyy meeeee"
grunts. But as soon as I begin rubbing the back of her
neck with my other hand she purrs. And as soon as
I let her go all is forgiven. Sweet babies they are.

She really knows you love her and are just trying to help her. And she
does feel better now and she knows who to thank.
