Hi all:

You all probably remember the woman I wrote about who had Lymphoma and had
developed it during her long awaited pregnancy.  She had had treatment
during the last trimester and went in for two rounds of aggressive chemo
right after the birth as well as a stem cell transplant.  Here is a copy of
the e-mail that I just received:

Magdi found out last week that she is cancer free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She will start re-doing all her immunizations in a few weeks, and will
rebuild her immune system.  She is still considered high risk to have the
cancer return, and is experiencing some other difficulties such as back
pain, risk of pneumonia, exhaustion and some problems with her lungs as a
result of the radiation therapy.

She sends her continues thanks to those who have provided meals, prayed for
her, and sent her cards over the past year.

That is absolutely tear worthy. I'm so so happy for her.

Hooray!!!! I'm SO glad she made it through  all those treatments, and that
they did help her, at least in the short term.  I hope she and her baby girl
will have a few years in which to love and enjoy one another, at very least.
At very most, I hope Magdi will live to see her daughter's wedding day and
all the big events of her life.

My friend Kim, who also recently went through a stem cell treament has
returned to the Mayo Clinic for her 60 day check up, so hold a good thought
for her, tomorrow.  She said the treatment itself was very hard and painful,
but she is immensely grateful to have had the chance to beat the cancer.
I'll bet Magdi shares a lot of those same feelings.

That's wonderful news, Susan. I remember the feeling when told I was
'clean', three years after the tumour had been removed. We'll be purring
that Magdi remains clean, too.

Ah Susan, I'm so glad to hear that - I *NEEDED* some good news this morning.
Purrs are continuing that she'll remain cancer free and will be there for
her child's wedding and the birth of her grandchildren!

Hugs,

The news that she's cancer-free is wonderful to hear!

Purrs and purr-ayers continuing that her additional treatments are
successful, her immune system recovers quickly, her additional symptoms
disappear and the cancer STAYS gone.
