According to the "Cat Owner's Home Vet Book" Sonya is in stage one of
labor.  It can last for as long as 12 hours, so this will take a long
while.  I'll keep you updated

Yay Sonya!

IBKFergus jumped on the keyboard in excitement, and Shmogg has got himself
into a box for the occasion.

Hopefully when we come back from our roadtrip today, we'll all be furaunts
and furuncles!

OMG, at last!  Purrs that she will have an easy labour and delivery of 5
kittens  (revised my estimate.) and that she will be a good mother.
I guess you will be staying up tonight.
I can hardly wait to know, I feel I've gone through every stage of this
pregnancy myself!

I vote on a litter of kittens that's going to be spoiled rotten from the
moment they arrive in the world. :o)

How marvellous that she's doing it in the daytime, when you can easily be up
with her! Please watch out if it is her first litter they will often lose
the firstborn due to not being quick enough. They don't know at first what
is going on, and with the 2nd kitten on the way out, they sometimes don't
manage to get the first one breathing soon enough!

Purrs for the mom in labor. I say six kittens.
Mischief - 14 Mar 2005 00:28 GMT
Yeah, right now all the babies are trying to get lined up so they can
be born.

I was on pig watch twice when our giant sows on campus went into labor.
I remember spending long hours of waiting.

Last year, I spent a lot of time waiting while Jana was in labor.
Suddenly the first piglet just popped out.

Hopefully Sonya doesn't have a long labor and that all six kittens (my
guess) will be born properly.

Seems a very long time for a cat, I was out at the club when Panther started
with hers and it was practically all over by the time I got home
about an hour later, I had a bit of traveling on a bus the Kids were with
her
Phil being about16 at the time and they'd rung me at the club

OK, She's still pregnant, but the TED says not to worry.  She's healthy,
and the kittens are doing great.  She's just not ready to pop them out.

I'm threatening to wring them out of her if she doesn't do it herself
soon.  Mandy said that was gross, and offered to have Speedy the d-thing
talk to her.  Mike said we were both sick.  I then suggested we give the
pan handler that hangs out near PetSmart a five and show him to Sonya
and then point out to her that she'll look like that if she doesn't have
them.

Yesterday I took some pictures of kittens into Mandy's room and showed
them to Sonya and told her that her kittens will be even cuter and
doesn't she want to give birth so she can see them?  Sonya raised her
butt to me as if to say, make them leave, then jumped off the bed and
hid under it.  I think I've been dissed.

It's good to hear that TED has given them a clean bill of health!  I'm
beginning to suspect that the father of the kits is not a cat, but
some species with a longer gestation period!
