Bonnie this Morning

Put the new dishwasher on before going to bed and found the  kitchen
floor covered with water this morning - it is the second time it has
done this and is still under guarantee, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

What has this to do with Bonnie you might ask.   She was asleep in the
carry cat box next to the dishwasher and it was on the floor!!!
Although half a dozen newspapers on the bottom of the carry box had
soaked up a lot she was still lying on water, sigh.   Hardly the thing
for an injured cat!

However the good news is that she is improving.   She used her litter
box (also sitting in water) ate her breakfast and staggered off into the
lounge for a day's rest.   Ye gods, even the carpet near the kitchen
door is soaked - more growls.
I got a whole bucket of water off the floor!!!

Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit.

Yikes!  You guys are sure having a rough time of it!!  Poor Bonnie, but I'm
glad she's feeling better.

What a mess!  Chalk it up to "experience".  Don't leave when appliances
are running.  Was the   carrying case open or closed?   Purrs that Bonnie
will be OK>   MLB

Appliances should be reliable enough that you can leave them on overnight =/

I once flooded the kitchen, but as I recall that's because as a kid, I didn't
know that you couldn't use regular dishwashing soap in a dishwasher ...

My mother had a washing machine in her kitchen (it was originally in a
back utility room, but the plumbing in that room turned out to freeze
too readily).  She would hook the drain hose over the edge of the sink
and screw the supply hoses onto the faucets.  She soon learned to keep
an eye on the machine when it was running, because the vibration would
sometimes cause the drain hose to walk its way up and off the sink,
dumping twenty gallons or so of soapy water onto the kitchen floor.

The dishwasher thing sucks, but I'm so glad to hear about Bonnie's
improvement.

Ditto what Karen said.  I'd be much less philosophical than Bonnie was
if I woke up to find my "bedroom" flooded.

But I'm glad she's feeling a little better.

Are Burmese one of the breeds that doesn't mind water?

Sorry about your floor, Bev. A gasket probably needs replacing on the
machine.
Glad to hear sweet Bonnie is feeling better. Nothing like a good long rest
for injured limbs. We are continue to pray and purr for her.

The carry box was open so she could have departed any time.
It is a new machine and still under guarantee so shouldn't need anything
replacing.   It flooded a couple of months after we got it and they took
it away and repaired it.   Wahhhhhh, I want another brand.

A few years back, my son had flooding problems from the icemaker on his
new fridge.  After the second flooding they did buy another brand.  Good
luck in getting a proper settlement for your defective dishwasher.   MLB
