So I'm chasing Vino around the house, I've actually got him pretty
riled up. This is usually difficult for me to do because Vino prefers
playing with Dennis, but since Dennis has been gone for 2 1/2 weeks, I
guess he's resigned himself to playing with me.
Anyway, I'm chasing him around and he's getting pretty into it. He's
leaping onto his scratching post and jumping off to tackle my ankles,
he's zooming up and down the stairs, bouncing off the couch. Suddenly
he jumps into his old cat condo which has this little house on it. I
go up and stick my head into the house. I nudge Vino with my head on
his side and rub my face on him. Suddenly the whole house starts to
vibrate with purrs! He's not excited anymore, he's freakin' purring!
The turnaround in his mood was instantaneous. What a weird cat. I
guess he likes it when he's got company in his house :-)

That reminds me of a "America's Funniest Videos" entry. Does anyone else
remember the kid who put his head in the cat Condo and got stuck? The
problem was the cat was trying to get out past the kid's head. I remember
the dad saying, "This is like birthing a baby!" I guess you had to see it
to really appreciate it, but I think it was the funniest video on that show
that I'd ever seen.

Well, Britta, you definitely qualify as a #1 Good Cat Toy!

Aww. How sweet. Frank loves it, too, when I pet him with my head or my
face. He can be in a foul mood and bat away my hand if I try to pet him
the regular way, but when I rub my head over him, he starts purring like
a madcat. Don't know what that is about. Nikki doesn't like my face too
close to her, so I guess my head belongs to Frank. He's always marking
my face with his scent glands.

Jeeves is the same way. Marks my face and loves it when I "scent mark"
him and kiss him on the head. He'll also lick my face lately.
Gossamer, like Nikki, does not want my face near hers but I am allowed
to bury my nose in her sides and belly.

Most mornings, Jake is snuggled up against me when I wake up. When I
start to stir, he starts to purr -- trying to get me to go back to
sleep. If that doesn't work, he washes my face very carefully with the
tip of his tongue, and then marks me thoroughly with his whiskers before
allowing me to get out of bed. Sometimes, as a special treat, he allows
me to rub his big white belly; that only happens when he's not quite
awake, though.
