A *very* funny man, well known for his missing half-digit and his
raconteur style.

I used to weep with laughter at Dave Allen's humour. My father would wipe
away tears of laughter too. Dad was brought up an Irish Catholic so greatly
appreciated the Dave Allen stance on religion :-)

I hate when I learn of fascinating people after their death.
He sounds like a great comedian.

I remember well when I was a teenager, snuggling up in front of the fire and
watching Dave Allen on TV.  He was considered to be a bit outrageous in
those days.  My mother often couldn't decide whether or not to let me watch
him!!

Oh how sad. :o(

A truly funny man, I had the pleasure to see him live on stage. My sides
hurt for 3 days from laughing so much.

Purrs for him and his family.

A part of my childhood....

I remember setting up a complex array of mirrors so that I could see the TV
from my bed via a crack in my bedroom door, just because I wanted to watch
Dave Allen and my parents thought I was too young.

I will miss him, and his dry laconic humour.
