I had a sureal moment this evening. I was talking to some RPCA friends
in Yahoo IM conference earlier. And then it struck me where my friends
actually physically were. New Zealand, UK, Washington DC and North
Carolina.
I was like WOW! The internet really does bring different people and
countries together. What makes it more awesome is that not all of us
have met face to face, but we've known each other for years, we've
exchanged Xmas cards, been there in happiness and sadness for each
other, supported each other through good and bad times, and we were
initally bonded by a mutual love of cats. Awesome.
I've shared my deepest thoughts with these people and know their darkest
family secrets, and I have no idea what they look like. I consider some
of RPCA my closest friends and often find it easier to talk to one of
them than people who are close to me physically.
I'm definitely richer and more wealthy for knowing you all, so thanks.

I know exactly what you mean. I just "refound" this group last year after
years away and I wonder how I managed without you all for all this time!
I've made new friends this last year and got reacquainted with old friends
again - and my life is *SO* much richer for it!

And about that $5 you owe me? <EG>
I agree with you Helen, the miracles of technology coupled with the good
in humanity is a powerful thing. We are all blessed to have each other.

I feel the same way about this and my other newsgroups, Helen. This is an
amazing way of communicating.

Just as well. I have a hoop in my nose and wear chains.

Way back in my early online days I had sort of a reverse situation. I
was up late playing some game online with my commodore 64 on the old
commodore bbs (can't remember the name right now, must be getting
old). Anyway, after playing for awhile I got to chatting with the
other player, who could have been just about anywhere. Turns out he
was in Wichita Falls Texas, just a short drive from me in Lawton,
Oklahoma.
