Tyche has discovered that purring while meatloafed behind a reclining
human's head can lull them to sleep very quickly.
I've often had an afternoon nap, drifting quickly off to sleep while
Tyche boiled on the pillow next to my head.
But yesterday DP was trying to study while lying in bed and when I
came in, he was sound asleep with a loafed Tyche purr, purr, purring
behind his head. When he woke up he was bewildered at how he'd fallen
asleep and a bit angry for all the time he'd lost to studying.
I find the purr very soothing, and it helps me relax...but now I'm
wondering what kind of subliminal message is in it, that it can put a
human to sleep against his/her will, and how long until Nocturne
discovers that this can be a weapon.

I think you should be afraid. Very afraid. Frank does this to me too.
Sometimes he curls around my head and purrs me to sleep, sometimes he
lies beside my head, presses his forehead against mine and purrs me to
sleep. I can only guess at what kind of mind-melding that entails. ;o)
I'm probably completely in his power already, and I don't even know it.

I don't know, when Mischief curls up on my pillow and purrs, I just
find it soothing, except when I'm trying to sleep. Then it just gets
noisy after a while. :)

Hmmmm, my three are usually more interested in waking me up to inform me
their bowls are empty. =o) But I wouldn't put hoomin hypnosis through
purring past ANY cat. "You will sleep now, and when you awaken, you will
feel compelled to share your roast chicken with me...."

Ah, well. Tell him that being well-rested is more important than cramming,
anyway. At least, that's what I always found.

LOL!
I guess I should consider myself fortunate, then. If either of the boys
curls up on/near me and purrs, they usually purr THEMSELVES to sleep
instead of me. :o)

AWwww what a sweetie! Yup, I'd be afraid, though I'm sure the purr
purr purr is meant to confuse. :)
