Pretty blue Bruce still hasn't figured out that maybe he shouldn't try to
steal Harry's food at every meal, because Harry will wap him. But he has
picked up some of Harry's habits, and now waps Yoshi when Yoshi trys to
steal his food. Yoshi has no one to wap, and Bruce, although still clearly
not a feline genius, is demonstrating some ability to learn; at least, to
learn from Harry. He's also become more cuddly, having observed that
Harry will sit on or next to humans for extended periods of time getting
petted.
The next topic on the educational agenda is where to sit when there's a
crowd in the kitchen. Harry has long since mastered the art of finding
places that are under something (so he doesn't get stepped on) but close
enough so that if anything really tasty is dropped, he can get it. Bruce,
on the other hand, seems to think that right in the middle of the action
is preferable, in spite of frequent human complaints. Time will tell if he
will learn a better lurking method from Harry!

I wish Bobby, our manx would figure that one out........his favorite
place to plop himself down when I'm putting away groceries is directly
in front of the refrigerator. Then when I slide him out of the way
with my foot to open the door, he complains, and comes right back to
plop himself down again. Bobby does NOT move, EVER, by himself, if
he's where he wants to be. We have to always move him ourselves, and
whether it be by sliding him (which actually sometimes turns into
rolling him) or picking him up, he always complains about it.
Stubborn or what?
