Buster came in today, limping, favoring his right rear leg. When I
picked him up and examined it, her meowed sadly, and pulled it away.
So I skipped breakfast and took him off to the kitty doctor.
The nurse who examined him says it is an abscess, grabbed his
testicles, and said "And this is probably the reason why." (big grin).
So Buster is being neutered today as well. I was kind of worried about
the neutering of older cats (Buster is probably 6 to 8 years old), but
they assured me that he will be okay.
These are the same people who detailed Spot, managed (against all the
odds) to keep Bubba Kitty around, and helped Presto on his final trip,
to the Rainbow Bridge. So I know Buster is in good hands.
Nevertheless, safety and healing purrs are appreciated for this sweet
and gentle feral. I'll be picking him up in a couple of hours.
I'm curious to see how he handles my medicating him (liquid, not
pills, thank goodness!)...

Purrs that Buster comes through just fine. He will be much safer after his
surgery, will get in fewer fights and will probably stay around his own home
more!

Purrs for Buster are on the way. As well as purrs for Buster to
realize how much you are trying to help him and not fuss too much with
the medication....

Interesting that, ahem, testicals can cause a leg absess <g>? I'm sure
he'll make it through okay and the good news is that he won't be making
anymore unwanted, unloved and uncared for babies. Purrs for Buster and
thanks to you.

Purrs galore are on the way from Captain and Stanley, who've already had
the big snip, for the procedure to go just fine. Also, purrs are on the
way for Buster's leg to feel better.

Sure thing, absolutely. Healing purrs and doggy-wags are on their
way for Buster. Let us know how he does. (From what we've heard
before, you have one top-notch vet and Buster is lucky to have you
both caring for him.)

I mix the clavimox with a few tablespoons of canned cat food and have
had no problems. I have found pills much easier to force into a cat
than liquids.

Naturally, these humorous remarks are all entirely my own opinion, based
