I did some spring cleaning today, including the litter box

Later on, I was in the kitchen and Mischief was coming out of the
hooded litter box.  Phew!  So I figured I'd clean it up now.  When I
tossed it into the garbage can, I noticed it was very soft.
hmmmmmmmm.........

Well I bagged a little of it and I'll take it into work with me
tomorrow to do a fecal float.

It's probably nothing, but it is softer and looks different than
normal, but she's not acting odd in any way.  Heck, she inhaled her wet
food last night, when I gave it to her as a treat.

It's not liquidy or anything.  But I'll take it into work and we'll see
what's up.  Good thing that I took the sample from the garbage can.
Hopefully it's not too contanimated by the litter.  Otherwise, I might
have to bring in Mischief to work, and she will NOT like that.

Actually it's quite stinky and I don't want to leave a bag of poop near
the door for very long.

I've got some time today, so I'll take into work and do a float on it.

It's quite SCENTFUL!!  Happy? now

It's probably just a fluke.  I changed my mind and I'm going to bring
it in tomorrow.

Purrs that all is OK.

If it's any consolation, Captain and Stanley both produced soft output on
Monday. I noticed some softer-than-normal stuff in the box as I was
changing the litter. But I couldn't tell which cat had produced it.

Then, of course, both cats have to produce BOTH kinds of output in a box
full of fresh litter. Captain was so eager to apply his scent to the
brand-new litter, he got in the litterbox before I was finished refilling
it. As a result, I almost accidentally poured a scoop of the new litter
right onto his head. Whoops!

Anyway, while I was in the process of cleaning and refilling both
litterboxes, I got to witness both cats making use of the brand-new
litter. And to make a long story less long, both of them put soft bowel
movements into the newly cleaned boxes. (Which I immediately scooped up
and threw away with the old litter. PHEW. Potent stuff, even for
freshly-deposited cat poo.)

All seems well now, though. I have no idea what caused the litterbox issue
earlier in the week. Here are some purrs that Mischief's output goes back
to normal, too.
