I've finished Jessie's page.  I couldn't find all her pictures, so I'll just
have to take some new ones I guess!  ;>

I LOVE it. I love her face and those eyes!! You should do a little page on
how she shows up in all the camera shots.

I didn't think of that but yeah, I have a lot of pictures of things that
Jessie "just happened" to appear in.  Thanks!

Jessie's second favorite thing in the world is tropical fish foot?
You can buy just the feet?  I haven't been able to find the feet on my
tropical fish.  :-)  I don't think that's what you really meant.

She is a cutie!  I love the site design and how the kitty eyes close
when you're on that page.  Great job.

Jessie is so beautiful. I love all cats but she has that little
girly face and feminine look that just kills me. Your web site
is really nicely done. The home page is unusual and welcoming.
Very nice design!

Yay! Pics of Jessie! Aww, she's such a funny-face. Who's the orange
tabby she's sleeping with? Oh, and she does that thing where she hugs
her back legs when she sleeps! Nikki does that too. <going back to look
at more pics of Jessie>

That's her litter mate, Taffy, who owns my son (he was living with us at the
time those pics were taken).

Yep, re hugging legs, she does that whenever I do my yoga just to show me
what real flexibility is!  ;>

Hi Lori,

I looked at all the cat pictures you posted, and they are delightful. In
fact, I commented on that after I looked at the pictures yesterday.
However, I have been thinking about the toy that is mounted on the cat tree
and decided that I wanted to warn you about an incident that happened to one
of my cats. I had that identical arrangement some years ago (when Amber was
still alive), and I thought it would be perfectly safe because the little
cord that attached the toy to the spring was so short. Amber loved it and
would play with that toy for long periods of time. In her case, it was
mounted to the top of a scratching post, so her back legs would be on the
ground as she played with the toy -- which is fortunate, concerning what I
am about to describe. One day, I was working in the kitchen and heard Amber
literally *scream* with an agonizing sound that I had never heard before. I
rushed into the room where she was, and she was lying on her back, one leg
fully-extended upward with that little short cord tightly wound around her
leg just above the paw, and she was in such a position that she just hung
here struggling but could not turn over or get onto her feet. If I had not
been home, I am convinced that she would have lost her leg or even her
life -- and that scenario had her caught in a position that I could never
have dreamed would have been caused by that small piece of cord.
Fortunately, I was home and was able to grab her and immediately release the
cord. I also immediately removed that toy and have removed every similar

Ohmygawd, that must have been so frightening!

The toy is long gone, so no danger, but thanks, that's a great warning for
others with similar posts.  In fact I've since started inspecting all toys I
get the kitties for potential hazards after reading a few posts like yours.

Most of the cat trees I've seen for sale come with snap-on strings and toys --
the snap is supposed to release under five pounds of pressure.

Unfortunately, this is no help for Oscar, who would eat the string if I let
her near the toy for any amount of time.
