This article describes one *very lucky* cat.  A motorist pulled over to the
side of the road after another motorist kept pointing to her roof.  Wary of
the man, she kept her windows rolled up -- until he reached onto the top of
her car and retrieved her cat!

One lucky cat! I'd also be nervous being pulled over by an unknown person.

Good grief! That's one kitty who's used up one of his nine lives, for
sure.

Sounds like he's used up one of his MEOWMY'S nine lives into the bargain.
;o) Boy, is that cat lucky!

Maybe she uses the "full service" pumps, as I do - not
everyone pumps their own gas, for a variety of reasons.

But then you'd think the gas station attendant would have noticed and
said something.

I know in Oregon, there are *no* self-serve.  All full-serve.  My brother
spent 6 months there a couple years ago, and was never able to find a
self-serve.

Self-serve is not legal in Oregon. I have no clue why, and I spent the
first 24 years of my life there.

Same thing in New Jersey.  Doesn't make sense to me.  Try to find a
full-service gas station in the Memphis area - I know of only ONE. (used to
live in the apartment complex just down the street from it - they also had a
service garage with mechanics and everything!)  They also had self-serve
pumps.  Unfortunately, that's the neighborhood I moved away from due to lots
of gunshots.  A woman was 'accidentally' gunned down while at the gas pumps
by some idiot who thought he recognized the guy who had stolen his stereo.
He was wrong; she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  I had to move
the hell out of Dodge City.

SHeesh, not the most observant owner, if she stopped for gas and didn't
notice him! Lucky for the cat there WAS a ski rack to hold onto, since she'd
been driving on the highway.   I have a feeling that will be the last time
the cat tries to hitchhike, though!  Poor boy must be traumatized.

I also can't imagine why she didn't see Kitty on the roof when she
got gas. Wow.

Persia would have been complaining about the wind and bugs in her teeth once
we stopped for gas! :o)

Years ago my father failed to notice that our cat was taking a nap on
the roof of his car and started to drive to work with him.  When he
got to the stop sign at the end of our street the frightened cat
jumped in the driver's side window and held onto dear old dad's dear
old head for dear life.  They both made it back home without much
damage done.
